A Creationist is Mad at Pixar for Assuming Humans and Dinosaurs Didn’t Already Live Together

A Creationist is Mad at Pixar for Assuming Humans and Dinosaurs Didn’t Already Live Together
November 28, 2015 by Hemant Mehta

Disney/Pixar released The Good Dinosaur a few days ago, and it appears to be doing well at the box office, giving the final Hunger Games movie a run for its money. The film is all about what would have happened if an asteroid did *not* wipe out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago and humans lived alongside them today.

And who better to talk about dinosaurs living alongside humans than the people who think The Flintstones was a documentary?

At Creation Ministries International, Lita Cosner is obviously upset that the movie just assumes the dinosaurs would have gone extinct millions of years ago if not for an asteroid, since, you know, the Earth only came into being 6,000 years ago.

Millions of years is literally central to the movie’s plot: if we rewind history millions of years and tweak the comet’s path, what changes? And then fast-forward millions of years to see the results. Of course, this is part of the constant barrage of references to MOY timescales that cumulatively indoctrinate people into disbelieving the Bible’s history.

In her view, using an evidence-based history as the foundation for a “what if?” film is inherently anti-Christian.

She’s also upset that the movie’s premise of humans and dinosaurs living side-by-side represents an alternative reality. Because that’s her actual reality.

… the most subtle evolutionary idea of all is that dinosaurs and man never lived together. In fact, according to the Bible’s history, dinosaurs and man were created on the same day, Day 6 of Creation Week (plesiosaurs and pterosaurs, extinct flying and swimming reptiles similar to dinosaurs, would have been created on Day 5)…

Clearly, this is a Pixar conspiracy to turn kids against Jesus.

But this is a movie review, so the main question is whether or not parents should take their kids to see it. Cosner says that’s okay… but parents should beware that they may be condemning their kids’ eternal souls.

1. Are dinosaurs kosher?

Just curious. Too lazy to look it up in the Bible.

2. I'll have to ask an expert, good question!

Maybe just the front parts? No dino butts!

3. I'm sure that "serious" theologians could spend

months arguing over that subtle and important topic, and keep a straight face the whole time.

8. All dinos are kosher except the struthiomimus - which had two toes...

Come to think of it: the front legs of T-Rex have two toes as well. So T-Rex probably isn't kosher either.

9. I think given what we now know about their close evolutionary kinship with birds

they probably tasted like chicken.

4. This movie review should be used as...

...part of a "This is your brain....this is your brain on religion" public warning.

5. It looks like a cute movie.

Too bad the idiots have to ruin everything, parents shouldn't have to worry about the troglodytes using fiction as fact but you know.

10. I always check Xian Answers for my cinema-spiritual needs...

Hmm. Their reviewer gave it 3 stars. And included a Sex/Nudity warning. FOR A FUCKING CARTOON!

The movie may be alluding to human Evolution through the use of characters who appear to be primitive humans. The movie also assumes that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago.

The seven-minute short film “Sanjay’s Super Team” which precedes “The Good Dinosaur” in theaters also raises some content concerns. A father and son are shown engaging in a Hindu meditation ritual, and the son daydreams of a battle in which a cartoon superhero and several gods team up to fight off a rather ugly-looking monster. Young children may find this scarier than any particular scene within “The Good Dinosaur” itself.

Violence: Moderate to heavy / Language: Minor (no profanity) / Sex/Nudity: Minor—Spot wears only a leaf diaper.

For more evolutionary hilarity, here's a link to their review of "Jurassic World:"

http://christiananswers.net/spotlight/movies/2015/jurassicworld2015.html

And right on topic for something else we've been discussing - Xian Answers always has a "PRAYER FOCUS" feature on their front page. So you too can feel good about doing nothing except moving your lips:

Today’s prayer focus

Brad Paisley, recording artist, actor, composer—“Cars” (soundtrack), “CMT Top 20 Countdown”
Scott Pelley, anchor and managing editor of the “CBS Evening News” and a correspondent for “60 Minutes”

Please take a moment now to pray for these influential people (prayer suggestions). Don’t just complain about “Hollywood,” PRAY for these influential people.

Hollywood and Jesus Christ— What do celebrities believe?

11. Gotta love parents who micromanage every moment of their childrens' existence.

Those kids always turn out great.

12. I think we need public figures to start calling these creationists "idiots"

we know they are self-deluded idiots, and I don't give a fuck about your "sincerely-held beliefs".

Your "sincerely-held beliefs" show you to be an IDIOT!

Bloggers and interneters can call them all the names we want, but we need a constant barrage of high-profile people publicly calling them out.

I'm in a foul mood today.

This is why I can't take claims of anti-christian bigotry seriously.
