Is it drinkers and pool players that are the problem?

DeSantis, governor of Florida bans bars, and nightclubs for 30 days. But he doesn't ban religious organizations from having the church meetings (yet). Will he be fair or does he think COVID19 is some kind of sin disease? Well, maybe it's a case of cutting off the nose. It follows that religious orders would bear the brunt of the virus if they are allowed to meet in their vast numbers.

Oh, I nearly peed in my pants.

They should be forbidden to mingle with us heathens.

Yep, keeping writing those checks until you drop dead.

FL deserves to get nailed by Karma for allowing this.

would cause, especially in the southeast. They haven't closed bars here, just schools, theaters and sports venues. Churches are all open, no word on whether attendance has dropped yet.

Mostly, people are running around in blind panic over a handful of cases. It's probably not going to change until enough people have had it and recovered from it.

They are all scrambling to get their services online so the $$ keeps rolling in.

I know people who are signing up on Facebook just so they can watch their pastor do his thing.

13. I don't know how empty the churches are here

but the last several nights have been really quiet. Usually, there are sirens between midnight and about 3 AM when the drunks hit the road and the fights start.

People are spooked enough to be drinking at home, maybe they're spooked enough to pray tha hangovers away at home.

This stinker isn't just killing people my age, young people are getting stuck in the ICU, too, I imagine the ones brave enough to pub crawl are under about 23 or so. Tip jars will be light.

They're seeing a steady 5-7 cases a day here, which doesn't sound like much, but this is a low population state.

I have a real advantage in this, I'm a total introvert and I don't give a rip if I ever go out as long as the power stays on and I've got something to eat. This is going to be pure hell on extroverts, churchgoers foremost among them.

10. Geez, what about "fewer than 50 (or 10) people" does not apply to a church?

Shows you how powerful religion still is, despite the welcome rise of the "nones" and the daily exposing of religious hypocrites.

Just suspended all Masses TFN. You may say that they could just watch a Mass online or on TV, but much of Brownsville is dirt-poor. Here's yet another acknowledgement that prayer is ineffective.
