An icon has died.

For many years he would write on a crisp new business card every day, "I know that today is the day I'm going to die."

He figured if he died in some spectacular unpredictable freak accident, people would wonder how he could possibly have known. He did say he got bored with it after a while and stopped. Oh well.

I received several responses from him to my emails and forum posts in the early days of SciCop.

Good man and a long life, lived well. R.I.P.

But I linked to brooklynite's thread that used "passed."

It's like passed to where?

I'll correct it.

Anyone who uses a variation of "pass" to characterize my death will get a memorably nasty visit from the Other Side.
