Celebrate Easter

[Spoiler Alert]

Watch Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice this night to observe Good Friday.

Superman dies.

Watch Justice League (Whedon or Synder version, viewer's choice) this Sunday for Easter.

Superman is brought back to life.

What better way to acknowledge a tale of death and resurrection? It's not like they're gonna bring Iron Man back.

We created them because none of the major religions give us those Jungian archetypes anymore

So we found a new way to make them -- and if civilization collapses, there will probably be religions that spring from DC and Marvel

Think of it -- the Church of Deecee and the Caliphate of Marvel

Hell, if Avengers: Civil War survives, there may be a schism!

I've read many a thought piece that compared the details of Superman's story to that of Jesus.

In the past, my real concern might have been armed clashes between the DC and Marvel followers. I grew up in an "one or the other" era. (I was a DC girl all the way.) Happily, today's youth are more open-minded. Mixed marriages happen and there are those who enjoy content from both franchises.

[Sigh] Now if only Star Trek and Star Wars fans could get along. Then we would have peace in our time. . . J/K, the world is f$cked and despair rules the land. Even Little Dot can't bridge the divide.

Not that she would want to, sh!t, couldn't that kid wear stripes even once?!

All kidding and existential dread aside, during the last election cycle-- and even during the pandemic-- I thought that it would have been great if actors famous for roles set in competing franchises would have done public service announcements encouraging voting and other responsible behaviors. Even if they weren't filmed in the same location, who could resist the combined exhortation of Mr. Sulu and Luke Skywalker? Or Captain America and Superman? BTW, I totally ship Wonder Woman and Thor.
