At Sun Jun 17, 2012, 11:28 AM you sent an alert on the following post:

He's correct. At least on DU, 'atheists' are some of the most vicious promulgators of ignorance
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1218&pid=32278

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)

YOUR COMMENTS:

Substitute "Christian" for "Atheist" and tell me this post wouldn't be hidden. This is over the top and has no place on DU. These are the posts that make DU suck.

JURY RESULTS

A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Sun Jun 17, 2012, 11:40 AM, and voted 3-3 to LEAVE IT ALONE.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: Broad-brush and inappropriate attack against a sub-set of DUers... (-- Petronius)
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Although I agree that it is a ridiculous statement, it doesn't seem hide worthy.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Substitute "Christian" for "Atheist" and it looks like 50% of the Religion forum. I'm generally in the nonbeliever camp myself, but I don't see any bigotry or broad-brushed assertions: "some of the most...", "...are often far, far worse...", etc.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: yuck

Thank you.

Really have been here for a long time but only lurking. I lurked in the old DU because I couldn't post in a group without donating. Got into that habit, so have mostly lurked since the new DU started up too.

That being said - I like pugs, though I wouldn't want to look like one.

Isn't it great non-donors can post in groups now? It's one of my favorite things about the switch to DU3.

Glad you're posting! Hope to see more of you!

I don't think I'll ever be a prolific poster, but might chime in once in a while.

evidence for that poster's explicit attack on atheists here. The poster made an assertion of fact and then fled. Hiding the post gives the poster the out of not being able to respond.

Did I understand that correctly? If I did, well, I am offended. Oh, wait. haha.

Maybe certain posters who happen to be atheists have made crude remarks about the LGBT community, but if they have, I am unaware of it. I am pretty sure none have done this while carrying the Atheist Flag our waving Our Banner.

American Atheists is an organization of atheists.
The League of Militant Atheists was an organization of atheists.

Therefore American Atheists is a dangerous example of organized atheism that may murder people if they get their way.

a web board like this one, expressing my opinion. (Well, maybe I go a little further, see below.)

I don't attack my 90 year old next door neighbor, who goes to church somewhere every Sunday.

I take care of her plants and her cat when she is away for a few days.

I bake pies and give her one, or a few leftover fruit pastry treats, (she gets meals on wheels, which I deliver to her door two days a month as my volunteer job.) I treat her better than any closet atheist I deliver to in the meals on wheels program in our small town.

I have no animosity for people who choose to believe in magic, in a guy in the sky. I actually care a lot for the older ones among them.

But I won't stand for someone running for office talking about God or Jesus, I challenge them. I make them look silly. I go to their events and ask why they are invoking their religion as justification for votes. I have been booed for doing so, but I make my point. We who do not choose to believe have an obligation to stand up to stupidity of school board candidates, selectmen, candidates for state or federal office, we need to put them on the spot. I do my part, do each of you?
