DENVER (KOMO) -- I have never lived in Denver, so I'll have to defer to those who have lived or still live there:

How do you handle your wardrobe in the autumn?

As a radical shift in the weather came rolling across the Rockies, the Mile High City went from summer to winter Wednesday ... in mere hours...[snip]

and I always had a sweatshirt hoodie in the car... even in summer

Standard joke in Colorado... there are four seasons

1. Winter
2. Waiting for Spring
3. The 4th of July
4. Waiting for Winter

It would do the same thing there. Seventy five in the morning with a hard freeze that night. Then a week later it would warm up as the front moved out. Some Christmases it was bundle up, others it was shorts and flip-flops.

But in truth, many of our biggest snowstorms occur after unusually sunny, beautiful and unseasonably warm weather the day before. Thus the adage: "don't like the weather in Colorado? Wait a day." It is very true. And sure enough, we'll be back to (more seasonably) warm sunny weather later Friday and Saturday.

BTW, the layers goes for me at home too (I keep a fleece top by the bed for when I first wake up), as I don't keep my home very warm (60-63 degrees typically). My doggy girl loves it that way (snuggled up with me now)...

Nothing like Colorado and definitely welcomed. Now, if we could just get some rain to save us from the so called "flash" drought we are in.
