Newsday says it's a weather emergency, sort of, and we can expect 5-9 inches on eastern Long Island
So far, no snow and no plows at standby sites.

(7,611 posts)But it looks like an inch so far. They say 3-5 by noon when it ends. Sigh.

(22,023 posts)After living on Long Island for 25 years, I've had enough of the traffic, high home prices, high taxes and limited services. For me, the only good things about the place are the beautiful shorelines and the terrific public golf.
But snow days were always fun! If my son was off from school, I'd stay home and we'd play outside building a fort or a snowman then we'd warm up with hot chocolate and board games by a fire.
This morning, I'm in NE Pennsylvania in the Catskills where we got about 2"-3" of snow. My son (now 25) is visiting for a couple of days but since we both work remotely, I don't think we'll be having a snowball fight today!

(4,429 posts)It looks like we MIGHT get a total of 2 inches, lol. I think I've shoveled twice this year.

Looks like 3 inches and it's still snowing lightly.
