More wintry weather is on the horizon: Here is what we know

We are looking at a chance for thunderstorms across the area Tuesday morning as a cold front is moving through. This cold front is going to help usher in cold air to the region. With our next system moving in Wednesday night into Thursday, and that cold air in place, it looks as though mostly snow is on the way with accumulations likely.
We are still over 3 days out from the start of this system. Tweaks to the forecast are likely over the next few days. Currently, the significant snow looks to fall south of I-70. Impactful snow is still possible north of I-70. Freezing rain and sleet could also be an issue near I-44.
Travel difficulties are expected on Thursday thanks to this chance for winter weather. Attached with this article is also a timeline in our extended Futurecast. Chad Crilley will be in for the noon Monday with more updates, along with Zach Paul Monday night.
