First day of autumn and...

There's SNOW on the peaks in southern Montana this morning!

Now that the clouds have blown by I can see the mountains and they have snow on them from the past 36 hours. It's not massive but it is enough to see from a few miles off, appears to be above 8,000ft elev. Actually a good sign but in current weather situation, nothing is predictable beyond a week or so.

We just had the Equinox yesterday.

Usually we don't get snow up high until hunting season in October/November, brings the ungulates down from the high country.

It won't last as we are headed back into the 70s and 80s starting today.

I was told that on the Montana eastern slopes, that weather was not predictable beyond a day or so.

It rained really hard in November and when the sun came out and it cleared up I saw mountains out my kitchen window that I had never seen before

when I was growing up.

We spent a month there every summer.

My family lived near Belgrade. We had family in Laurel, too.

We like Yellowstone. Where are you, roughly?
