Judge ruling proves polygamous group near Custer wasn't filing birth certificates

A South Dakota judge’s ruling has confirmed that children were born on a remote Black Hills compound run by a secretive religious sect, offering new insight into life within the polygamous FLDS.

The ruling in September by Seventh Circuit Judge Jeff W. Davis revealed that births occurred on the compound near Pringle and were not recorded with the state as required by law.

The judge granted birth certificates to two girls who, according to their mother, were born a decade ago on the Custer County compound operated by the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a radical offshoot of Mormonism.

Until the ruling by Davis, no birth certificate had ever been issued to a resident of the compound that is secured by barbed-wire fences and guarded by a watch tower, despite widespread suspicion that children had been born there.

Understand Warren and Lyle Jeffs kept those records at their Temple in Texas. Some one mentioned they were moved to Colorado City Arizona or Hilldale Utah after the Feds raided that Temple.

Remember, this is one messed up Cult Group. Dealt with several on a Retail Level, have to say it was interesting to say the least. When they send a sixteen year old 70 miles with a 18 wheeler flat bed to pick up 12 Bunks of OSB. Okay, say no more.

BTW,was told by one of the Cast outs,he needed Birth Certificates for his children for Public School registration,he had to use Hospital Records and Washington County Utah issued a Cert.

Some really messed up crap.

owns the Zion ranch in Texas which includes their temple. They were going to put one in S Dakota, but I think its in a halt.

Surprised they don't rush one of the original temples in New York or Hiram, Ohio.

the Rapid City Newspaper found out what was afoot. That whole Compound was set up for the Pure Blood Line Members. They would sent young kids from the Twin Towns via Vans to Pringle, non stop driving fearing being caught by Law enforcement.
