ALi - Desert Island 알리 - 무인도 [Immortal Songs 2]

This is Kim Chu-ja's hit from the mid 70's. I put Ali's rendition up here because it isn't too bad and has the English subs. I don't know who could do this song in the mesmerizing manner of Kim Chu- ja (also romanized as Kim Choo Ja - 김추자 ).



One Korean web site described Kim Chu-ja as a sex symbol, a "raw animal spirit," and an "undeniable talent," in contrast to the rigid trot styles that dominated the seventies and eighties. Many of her performances are unrestrained and downright manic. She was an artist whose voice appealed to the imagination. Deserted island was a classic example of her artistic ability.

I think that may have been her, the older woman, wiping away a tear listening to Ali's performance, but I have been unable to confirm that. Here's a short bio on Kim (scroll down):
