Endorsements Pour In For Hillary Clinton From Gun Control Advocatesby Alice Ollstein at Think Progress

"SNIP..............
Clai Lasher-Sommers, who survived being shot by her stepfather in 1970, was still conflicted in September about who to support for president. She told ThinkProgress that she believed in everything Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stood for, but couldnt bring herself to vote for him because of his checkered record on gun control. Those same concerns have since prompted Lasher-Sommers and other gun violence survivors and advocacy groups to throw their support behind Hillary Clinton, which could prove crucial to her campaign with the first presidential caucuses and primaries only weeks away.
I have met her and talked to her twice, Lasher-Sommers said. Im a cynic by nature, but I found that shes authentic and she cares. Shes reached out to [gun violence] survivors in different states, and she didnt have to do that, especially in New Hampshire, which practically has more guns than people.
The Granite State doesnt quite have more guns than people, but the rate of gun ownership is high and getting higher. Already boasting the 13th highest number of registered guns per capita, the number of registered guns jumped 20 percent in New Hampshire between 2014 and 2015.
More than 33,000 people are dying every year [from gun violence], Lasher-Sommers said. Whoever gets into the White House needs to address this forcefully and know how to negotiate well. I watched her as Secretary of State, as the First Lady, and as New Yorks Senator, and I think this is something shes going to follow through with. She is consistent on this issue, and Bernie Sanders is not.

(23,664 posts)1. The last thing Clinton is, is "consistent on this issue"
Do I need to post all the links to "Annie Oakley" Clinton from 2008, when she ridiculed Obama as a gun grabber, nostalgically recalled her youth as a duck hunter and stood up for gun control issues to be decided by the states?
Not to worry, however. If she gets that nomination in her hot little hand, and has to appeal to "hard working white Americans" (her words not mine), she'll revert right back to Annie Oakley.

Well, not really...

(24,544 posts)7. Because some here are trying desperately to pretend that gun control is not a major issue right now
But it is. And for the other people that this is a major issue for, they've all been incredibly consistent in who they are supporting.

(118,622 posts)8. Oh I agree. GOPERS are losing their wedge. You don't see the
NRA apologists attacking anymore. I guess Hillary is the only candidate who wants to talk guns these days too.
