Any speculation of hypothetical Romney "game changers"?

The debates seem like they're going to be Romney's last real chance to "sell" himself as a viable and preferable alternative to President Obama. I predict that they won't go well for him, so what else might conceivably happen that seriously transforms this race into a (likely) Romney/Ryan victory (or Obama loss)? At the risk of sounding complacent- because I know that we still have a fairly long time, politically speaking, left in this race- I just don't see how Romney/Ryan shakes up this race at this point in their favor.

My only major concern, besides the downticket races, about this election is voter suppression/disenfranchisement. I would like to think that, unless Romney is running neck-and-neck with Obama by Election Day 2012, if he wins despite poll numbers that appear incompatible with a likely Romney win right before the election that the legitimacy of a Romney win would be contestable. I have a hard time with the concept of a sudden "Romney upset".

The public, or at least a substantial portion of them, will generally buy any crackpot nonsense if it's pushed at them with sufficient frequency and intensity.

Politico has a story up today suggesting that our friendly "swing voters" may STILL go the other way on Election Day 2012, so the GOP MSM is apparently trying to set the meme up.

The recent "Arab Fall" uprisings over the POS film attacking Muhammed was supposed to show that Obama isn't in control on the international stage. Instead, Romney fumbled the ball and showed that he has no concept of how to conduct himself on a major international stage. Even conservatives had "Oh shit, is he that clueless?" moments.

I think voter suppression is all they have, and recent court decisions has not helped that strategy either.

I'm not really a straight ticket voter at heart, but I'll definitely vote against every Repub on my ballot.
