WaPo: Clinton’s lead is evaporating and her anxious supporters see 2008 all over again

Jul 31, 2015 tweet from Bernie:

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” - Mahatma Gandhi.

https://mobile.twitter.com/berniesanders/status/627101930561515520

Just as Barack Obama’s stunning upset there helped assure Democrats in later states that a black man could win votes from whites and propelled him to victory in South Carolina and other places, so, too, could a Sanders victory on Feb. 1 in Iowa and then Feb. 9 in New Hampshire ease doubts about the viability of a self-described “democratic socialist,” some said.

“It’s just like the weak spot for Barack Obama was his skin color, but he got cured of that in Iowa,” said Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.), the party’s leading African American... "If Bernie comes out of Iowa and New Hampshire with big victories — if it’s close in both places, that’s one thing — but if he comes out of there with big victories, hey, man, it could very well be a new day,” Clyburn added.

One Clinton ally on Capitol Hill said some in the party are starting to seriously consider what it would mean for Democrats nationally if Sanders were to win... party officials have gone out of their way to keep the peace with supporters of Sanders, hoping to tap their energy and keep them activated for the general election campaign... The reevaluation of the Democratic primaries — which seemed destined for a Clinton coronation after she recovered from a summer slide amid controversy over her use of a private email system while secretary of state — comes as state and national surveys show her sliding fast once again.

The new dynamic will be on display in South Carolina this weekend, when the Democratic candidates attend a party dinner and then a fish fry hosted by Clyburn ahead of their debate Sunday night. The pre-debate events, expected to draw hundreds of activists, will serve as a chance for Sanders to prove that his campaign has an effective organization beyond the first two states.

Senator Clyburn is FEELING THE BERN. He well remembers the racist dog whistles the Clintons employed in 2008 and he is sending a message to us: we can follow in Barack's improbable footsteps to win IA and NH and change the course of this primary race forever.

Unlike establishment DLC types and their corporate paymasters who have corrupted The Party of FDR, both Clyburn and Joe Biden see the value in Bernie's message and our value in the electoral process.

So let's keep doing what we're doing because it is working!

LET'S WIN IOWA and NH!

In Oct 2002, Hillary turned her back on the Majority of Democrats in Congress,
crossed the aisle,
and helped Bush and the Republicans Get The WAR ON!

after the most recent cranky salvo at Bernie he's changed his mind. When Hillary suddenly realizes it's not going to be a coronation after all, her whole persona changes. She acts entitled to the position and seems quite miffed anyone might think otherwise.

The woman has not driven a car in decades. Entitled does not even begin to describe her attitude.

What your husband sees - what then Obama now Bernie supporters like me are seeing AGAIN - is the real Hillary.

The entitlement, the anger, the readiness to discard ethics -- we've seen it before. At the very least, it demonstrates exceptional immaturity in a candidate. It should be taken seriously.

I could say so much more but am afraid to here. I don't know how long you've been around here but would advise that you be careful, too. There is another place where people can speak more openly about the 2016 race without risking "hides" and banning, and that is http://jackpineradicals.org/content.php

Anyway, thanks for posting the traits. They should be obvious to most people.

What you pointed out was important, imo, but maybe a little risky. You deleted so fast that I didn't get a chance to capture the good, succinct link. If you could send it to me via PM, I would appreciate it -- or just post it on the other site, whatever's comfortable for you -- or not, if you prefer. I might be able to find it w/a browser search. Anyway, thank you for confirming what I've been thinking.

BTW, I love you avatar. If I ever get tired of FDR, I'll look for one like that.

Social media, Bernie, and I believe the MSM won't let her get away with her blatant lies. Iowans and NH folks hate Hillary's ugly lying divisive brand of politics. She has not learned a thing since 2008.

And that kind of behavior does not bode well for any president (which I don't think she ever will be, anyway).
