(12,530 posts)I'm not a gun person. I don't like guns, and I don't even like all of Sanders' positions on guns (although he really isn't bad). But I'm not here to pick a fight with you about guns. Instead, I'm here to appreciate Bernie Sanders for not pandering to me and to the majority of his followers who don't like guns. I appreciate getting the straight story from my candidate, even when I disagree with my candidate. That's a stand-up guy.

(16,974 posts)he does have a D- and I do not agree with some of his firearms policies. He is the best overall in my opinion.

(12,655 posts)said he dropped the nra because they were too wack a doodle and not listening to their members.
big difference imo between him and the people that profit off sale. those people can never be reasonable cuz all they see is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

(2,227 posts)a duet. had a gig in White River Junction VT. Getting ready to start playing and a cop walks in. We looked at each other and were a little worried. Who was getting arrested or what? The cop goes behind the bar, takes off his gun, puts on a apron, and now, hes the bartender A really nice guy. It was a great 4 day gig. Just how things are in VT. So I can see Bernies perspective on guns in a statle like VT. Not something you would see in say, NYC, Chicago etc. But still, Bernie gets a D- from the NRA so I'm ok with that.

(12,655 posts)if not THE lowest rate of gun violence deaths. so i can see where he is coming from. but the nuts at nra just want more more more so he gets his d-. pretty good rating for a progressive

(2,227 posts)for Bernie to evolve on the gun issue without any backlash. He is simply not gonna take a position on something just to get a vote or 2. That's why I'm a huge Bernie supporter .

(12,530 posts)I just wanted to point out that our candidate can take a prickly issue like guns and say it straight to his supporters, even if not all of us agree.
I'll argue guns with you in a different thread on a different day.

(5,668 posts)Like hello out of the Republican playbook. claiming she's speaking for the people.. hey the folks in Vermont wanted that law. He listened he passed it. In the #1 safest stated in the union... what she's really saying is vote for me and I'm not gonna listen to you either.
I give what I can afford (which isn't much)

the vile campaign from the other side.
I hope that sooner or later they may take notice.
