Paul Ryan Says...
"Mitt Romney and I are not running to redistribute the wealth. Mitt Romney and I are running to help Americans create wealth."
What a load of crap, and here's why.
Wealth isn't created, or at least monetary wealth. There is, simply, a finite amount of value to be distributed. Sure, you can create my dollars - banks do it every time they create a loan - but thay simply devalues each dollar proportionately. The sum value of "america" remains the same.
I'll refer to Bill Maher's pizza tax analogy. Someone orders a pizza with 100 slices, open the box and the first guy grabs 80 slices. Ryan's saying "it's cool, bro, we're just gonna produce another pizza out of nothing, and you guys can have that one." Which is, of course, silly.
But even if you could - even THEN - what's stopping the first guy, when you crack open that second pizza, from swiping 80 slices of that one too? Point being that even if you create more pizza/wealth - which you can't - the poor guy at the end still goes hungry. The only way to feed everyone is to make sure that first guy doesn't take 80 slices, and if he does we damn well take them back.
