Related: About this forumSanders to release letter from his doctor before Iowa caucus...
My favorite line in the article:
"What the f***," a Clinton staffer mouthed when asked about the story. The staffer was granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the record."

Charleston, South Carolina (CNN)Bernie Sanders will release a letter from his doctor before the Iowa caucuses on February 1, his campaign manager said Saturday.
The announcement comes after a Clinton-aligned super PAC suggested it would call on the 74-year-old Vermont senator to verify his health, and one day before the fourth Democratic debate, held in Charleston, South Carolina.
The letter, Jeff Weaver said, would prove Sanders -- the oldest candidate in the presidential field who also would be the oldest president to take office -- is in "excellent health."
The Sanders campaign's decision came after David Brock, the head of a Hillary Clinton super PAC able to coordinate with the campaign, telegraphed his plans to call for the medical records this weekend here.

(45,251 posts)This is a mistake on the part of her campaign, IMO, because it only draws attention to her age and her health.
People half his age would not have undertaken the schedule that Bernie undertook during this primary, especially during the first few months.

(4,552 posts)than that if you are her/his age.
I would equate "running for President" at least equal to having open heart surgery.
You need medical clearance to do that.
So, Hillary better get her latest and greatest medical clearance handy as well.

(5,420 posts)I'm sure her supporters will soon be on here to inform you that Hillary already released hers. The truth though, is that Hillary only released a statement from her doctor. Interesting enough, that statement confirmed that she has had two separate instances of brain aneurysms and that she is on a life long treatment of a blood thinner which by the way is dangerous itself and can cause fatal brain bleed as well as other problems. Further research shows her father died from a stroke which adds a genetic factor.
It would seem to me that this should exclude her from even running. After opening this can of worms, the Hillary team now wants to stop the discussion of age and health. Lol
However it still appears that her health is a very serious issue and game changer.
Damn worms won't go back into that can

(4,552 posts)Really, all that needs to occur is for them to prove he was fit for the elective Hernia Surgery he apparently had recently. I recall he was back to work the next day. A lot of surgery is done on an OutPt-same-day-surgery basis now. Sounds like all went well. And he obviously was fit enuf to undergo it. I am not worried. At 74, we all have medical issues of some sort. I would say Bernie's are being handled well.
I am annoyed that the Clinton camp made an issue of this. It will come back to bite her in her entitled @$$.
I am happy that Bernie will be able to produce a clean bill of health.
No question in my mind that Bernie would not be running if he was 'lame'. He has too much integrity.
Hillary is on blood thinners for life, and has had multiple falls. And a concussion. And she is demanding Bernie's records? Smells like deflection to me. Hillary, maybe you should worry about getting around without falling. How about a cane maybe? And, as a side note. We were told she had a concussion. She wore special prism lenses after it. They also prescribe prism lenses after strokes. Maybe she actually had a stroke but no-one wants to say.
Hillary, remember you live in a glass house!

Clinton was treated with blood thinners to help dissolve the clot and would be released once the medication dose had been established, they said."

(14,918 posts)If her physician misrepresented her physical condition in the letter that was submitted, it would be a serious breach of medical ethics and legally actionable. It thus seems unlikely that your conjecture about covered up strokes is anything but nasty calumny. Even her detractors here who watched her 11-hour marathon Benghazi testimony were pretty much unanimous in praising her stamina and mastery of the situation. You are not doing your candidate, who is a decent and honorable man, any favors by stooping to scurrilous rumors of a hushed-up stroke. Btw, I have not seen any evidence at all that "she is demanding" that he his medical records, so you should quit pushing that phony meme.

(4,552 posts)Just because the public is not aware of more medical issues does not mean they don't exist. Ever hear of HIPAA? Medical records are private. That letter doesn't necessarily reflect all that has happened in Hillary's medical past. It is simply a statement that she is fit to be President according to that physician's expertise.
I saw a lot of the B-azi hearings when I got home from work.
Big woop.
Bernie is currently an Acting US Senator.
And he went back to being a Senator the day after outpt surgery.
How about both sides layoff the 'unfit for Presidential office" nonsense.
As an aside, I still stand by my concerns that Hillary's medical state might have some gray areas. The Clinton dynasty is full of gray areas and they are always surrounded by controversy.
If Hillary can't take crap getting thrown at her, then maybe she (and her slimy surrogates) should stop throwing it.
