...notice the source. Anonymous, unauthorized to preview the strategy, but still leaking the strategy...
David Brock just released a statement about this. Given the anonymous "Democratic" source, and the fact that Brock had not been contacted for comment by POLITICO, I'm going with the theory that someone is playing some games here.

(178 posts)Politico doesn't believe you. They have several independent confirmations of your backfired plans again.
Do not think we are stupid. It is the Clinton campaign that is of one mind.

(52,152 posts)they have one, count it one, unnamed source. their own story says that.

(52,152 posts)but I do know that Politico doesn't have three sources, it has one, and that one is anonymous. Again, their own story says that.

(114,904 posts)is the same guy who had no compunction lying to destroy Anita hill to advance Thomas. Now he's lying to tear down bernie to advance hill.

(85,977 posts)...it has the weakest of sources and it's been denied.
You have nothing but all of this invective and insinuation to back up yours and Politico's claims. That's just slippery politics and there's really no excuse for it.
cali
(114,904 posts)which you are quite aware of.

(5,400 posts)CHARLESTON, South Carolina The Hillary Clinton campaign Saturday night publicly rebuked one of their top outside allies after reports that he planned to make an issue of rival Bernie Sanders health reports he now denies. Meanwhile, the Sanders campaign said they would release a letter testifying to his health in coming weeks.
Chill out, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta tweeted at David Brock, who runs several pro-Clinton groups. Were fighting on who would make a better President, not on who has a better Physical Fitness Test. Politico first reported earlier Saturday that Brock was planning to go on TV to call for the 74-year-old Sanders to release his medical records.
It was a rare public reprimand from a campaign to one of its top supporters and just 24 hours before the first Democratic presidential debate of the year here. Brock has raised millions of dollars supporting Clinton and runs several groups supporting her bid, including the super PAC Correct the Record, which can coordinate directly with the Clinton campaign.
And he can go after the media for quoting the Clinton campaign.

(5,400 posts)So I guess that earns them a pass from Brock, they can't be faulted for thinking the worst. But the Sanders campaign should give Brock the benefit of the doubt, after the Clinton campaign didn't? Is that Brock's argument? Because it's a lol hoot if it is.

(12,530 posts)A national Clinton campaign has tighter message control than anything that's ever had message control. There are less serious political forums for people who are not accustomed to national politics. But this is how national politics work. This is how the Clinton machine works. You either already know this, or you definitely should by this point in your progression.
Clinton took another blow yesterday, and she'll continue to be dealt as many blows as necessary until she figures out that dishonestly attacking Senator Sanders results in pain.

Hillary and her mouthpieces are hypocritical liars who shall reap what the sow in 2016 as they did in 2008.

(8,976 posts)But Blinded by the Right offers plenty of evidence that for Brock, lying has been a lifelong habit. During his freshman year at Berkeley, when Brock was still a Naderite liberal, he lied to a man named Andrew, who would become his lover, about the fact that he was adopted. Andrew didn't learn the truth until after he and Brock had lived together many years. While campaigning to be editor in chief of the Daily Cal at Berkeley, Brock was "caught in an embarrassing lie" about an editor he didn't like. He told the Daily Cal's outgoing editor in chief that the university's vice chancellor had phoned to complain about a story that the enemy editor had presumably mangled. It wasn't true, and Brock got caught. By this time Brock had drifted right, but he offers no evidence that this particular conflict had any ideological content. Years later, Brock leaked his American Spectator piece about Troopergate to CNN, contrary to orders from his editors, who were enforcing an embargo on it. "When confronted, I came up with a clearly implausible lie," Brock confesses. Surely lying to one's comrades wasn't part of the conservative movement's playbook. The further one gets into Brock's book, the more one starts to suspect that Brock wasn't a liar for any larger cause, but simply
a liar.

(8,976 posts)to a published piece from Politico where they reveal their history of lying...Whoops, times up!
Everyone here knows what David Brock is and what the Clinton Campaign IN COORDINATION with her super-pac and skirting the law is trying to do.
The only challenge in analyzing this is deciding who of the two is behaving scummier...
...defending Politico and their 'Democrat familiar with the thinking' with the same sort of self-serving innuendo. The irony.
