The Faux Outrage about "The Establishment" is a Classic Republican tactic

So, I was watching Rachel Maddow this evening and she shared the various responses from Planned Parenthood, Human Rights Campaign and Bill Clinton regarding Bernie's use of the term "establishment" on her show. And I got mad. Because long ago the Clintons were victims of the right-wing smear machine. Rush Limbaugh would say something outrageous, his listeners would buy it, and the fax machines at the news organizations and in Congress would fire up. Folks would come into the office the next day and whatever Rush said to his audience would be THE NEWS of the day. Drudge Report picked up this mantle and for years we have all watched as stupid ass shit is not only twisted and taken out of context, but then elevated by the msm into the outrage of the day.

This is how Fox News keeps their lights on.

I know this is politics and it's a dirty game. There is power and money at stake the likes of which most of us can't even truly conceive. I love having a bulldog in my corner. Like many progressives, I have cringed over the lapdog Dem establishment in years past. I don't mind it if my party leaders fight dirty...when I believe they are fighting for me.

Hillary isn't fighting for me. She's fighting for the status quo and the rich and the powerful. She might try to make a few tweaks here and there to legislation, but she isn't even willing to try to go bigger. And she's consistently using republican frames and tactics. So not only is she not willing to go big, she's reinforcing the belief that it is impossible. This cynicism and "no we can't" mentality is not what Democrats need as our Party standard bearer.

Hillary Clinton will not have any coattails in 2016. And I'm terrified 2018 will be a complete bloodbath. What can our legislative candidates possibly run on in 2018?

it will be done with a bloodbath in '16 as far as the House and Senate are concerned. '18 will end up a complete sellout of the American people and that is the real danger as we will stroll right into the next census and the rights to take gerrymandering to a whole new level.

We can NOT afford another Clinton.

To attack progressive organizations. They believe they are a distraction from the real problem. Economics. They use to be labeled as Paul supporters. We will fight back against them and win. Progressives will win in the long run.
