at the 2012 DNC convention. President Obama launched his career in a similar way when he gave the keynote speech in 2004 at the DNC convention.

I still remember the article that stated the Clinton campaign would pick Castro or another Hispanic person for her VP. Totally about optics.

She fought for migrant farm workers and was registering poor Latinos to vote in the Rio Grande Valley in 1972.

Putting Julian Castro on the ticket would be a wonderful way for her efforts for Latinos to come full circle. Plus, he is a damn fine VP candidate, as anyone who has seen him speak would agree.
