(NECN: Alison King, Boston) - In the Massachusetts U.S. Senate showdown, Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren’s campaign is trying to maintain its momentum from polls that showed her ahead following her Democratic National Convention speech.

Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts spent the day campaigning with Warren on Monday.

Meanwhile, incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown has gone on the attack with a new ad critical of Warren’s claim of Native-American heritage.

NECN political reporter Alison King has more in the attached video report.

There were about 4 or 5 in a row last week, so we had quite a few for a while there.

I guess we'll have to wait and see whether one comes out later this week.
