Ameritrade Ricketts, Republican Donor funds $600,000 in attack ads against Sanders.

Last edited Tue Jan 26, 2016, 11:22 AM - Edit history (1)

I don't know why texting to the corp media wouldn't just do the job.

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/01/25/bernie-sanders-a-target-of-ads-by-republican-donor/?_r=0

A “super PAC” founded by the former TD Ameritrade executive Joe Ricketts is spending more than $600,000 on a television ad in Iowa lashing Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont as “too liberal” in the final days of his close race against Hillary Clinton in the state’s caucuses.

Hmmm ..... I wonder who is in the Super Pac or who else the people in this Super Pac back?

Note: My Guess: Iowa is an open primary. They want to drive people fed up with the system to Trump so they can take out Cruz.

That is what the popular meme has been about Karl Rove's ads.

Claire ran ads in the Republican primary saying that Todd Akins was the most conservative person in the race. Obviously, this helped him and won the Republican Primary. Claire wanted him as the opponent.

Here's what Claire tweeted

I see you Joe Ricketts. And I know exactly what you're up to. #ToddAkin Don't fall for it Iowa Dems.

This isn't an ad that will damage him among Iowa voters - it lists all of the proposals that are endearing him to the left and accuses him of being "too liberal" (but is sure not to mention the words socialist or taxes).

Very different than the negative and defamatory Clinton ads that invoke Benghazi/Wall Street/Authenticity/trustworthiness.

The ad has a positive tone and imagery that emphasizes positions which are popular among democratic voters. If it isn't meant to undermine Hillary, then why wouldn't Republicans have used similar poll tested attacks against Sanders (as they did against Clinton) - attacks that would actually threaten his popularity with democrats?

The best one with words. The America ad is the best one without words. If someone asked me who made the ad I woulda thought paid for by the Bernie campaign.

He's pulling a Senator McCaskill. He is betting that dems will hear too liberal and think great, I'm voting for bs. He WANTS bs to be nominee so he can get clobbered in general.

...I hope his ad helps to accomplish that goal.

Remember, Bernie was not taken seriously as a candidate in the Democratic primaries, either. Until he could no longer be ignored.
