(1,644 posts)I find it amusing that so many people who have been running things in this country for decades like to see themselves as "outsiders" and "mavericks". This is true for both parties.

(5,792 posts)thought on this and am thinking it is the holding back of the nominee for the FDA. No conspiracy at all. Just thought it strange. Either had to do with him wanting Hillary or the FDA nominee hold up. I felt his comments were leaning towards Hillary. The FDA should have no one that has worked for Monsanto nor the big pharma on it.

(4,544 posts)happy that he wants to hold up a nomination if he suspects it's political posturing during his presidential campaign?
I am glad Bernie is standing against the nomination. We don't need more corporate influence in our government appointees. Just sick of it.
He is showing he can take action and keep his campaign on track.
Love it.

(5,792 posts)I left and saw the article on my FB page about Bernie being one of the ones holding back the nomination for the FDA spot. He was right to do it. And Monsanto's people with the FDA too have no business there.

(5,792 posts)Hillary if you don't stop the hold on the FDA. I don't want to think the President would do that. I voted and canvassed for him. But if Bernie holds true to his convictions and Obama comes out with a endorsement of Hillary or makes a comment that is not supportive of Bernie then I'll know.

(7,404 posts)About what the DOJ is about to drop on the Clinton campaign. I do not think Hillary will be indicted on any charges, however I do think it is likely several members of her old State Department staff (some who presently work on her campaign) do get indicted for mishandling classified information. They will quickly cut misdemeanor plea deals with DOJ.
AtomicKitten
(46,585 posts)If true, it proves she personally mishandled classified information. Patraeus was prosecuted for less.

(4,544 posts)Big sigh of relief.
But, I still wonder why he would have a scheduled meeting with the top dog during the count-down to the Iowa Caucuses.
As others have said, if it isn't really critical, it is taking Bernie away from the battle-ground.
I do hope we find out what it was about.

But I can't really see the President being able to offer anything interesting to Bernie on behalf of HRC.

(45,806 posts)I don't think it would matter WHO asked him to back off running an earnest campaign, he'd tell them to STUFF IT!
I also have more trust in Obama than to ever think he would try to interfere in the campaign like that.
I have no idea why they're meeting and neither do you. Respect the integrity of both men and wait and see. I'm sure we'll find out what they met about soon.

Maybe the two are discussing the idea of a security detail since Bernie is now doing so well.
If the offer is made, I do hope he agrees.

Bernie's crowds are likely to swell after Iowa and NH. As a change agent, Bernie's message and cultural background will drive the nut jobs to extreme measures.
