Bernie Sanders is a social democrat, Hillary Clinton and the rest of the candidates both Democrats and Republicans are neo-liberalists.

A layperson term for social democrat would simply be shared responsibility! Examples would be public schools, libraries, transportation systems, sewer systems, dams, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, police force and firefighters.

Now the meaning of neo-liberalism is Reaganomics or trickledown economics! Good examples would be NAFTA, the dismantling of regulations like Glass-Steagall which caused the bank fraud and the housing crash of 2008, the breakdown of unions, the huge wage gap, undermining of environmental laws, reckless foreign adventures (Iraq invasion of 2003), and the new trade agreement the Trans Pacific Partnership which is NAFTA on steroids.

What does social democracy look like? It is standing together with workers to fight for a $15 minimum wage, tipping the scales in favor of independent family farms against monopolization of corporate agriculture, strengthening unions and collective bargaining, creating affordable healthcare for all, and instituting a massive investment in infrastructure through green jobs that put people and planet first.

That definition should be on every pamphlet. Absolutely brilliant.
