(50,130 posts)Did you notice that? Put her elbows out and jigged across the stage. Sort of like a square dance step.
What WAS that?? It's been bugging me.
Maybe she's thinking of doing some vaudeville?
MissDeeds
(7,499 posts)Of course mentioning that probably makes me sexist.
I thought her whole demeanor was odd. She started out giddy and then went to snark mode.

(34,195 posts)She went on a rant listing her claim of life long work.
Never got close to saying why people don't trust her.
(Maybe because she doesn't answer questions?)

(5,856 posts)I didn't trust her to answer the question.

(114,904 posts)I know. I've been to quite a few. He's quite comfortable taking any question and he's been doing just that for years every Friday on Brunch With Bernie. Your wishful thinking and projection is impressive. The fact is, Hillary has small crowds because she can't attract large ones.

(399 posts)Years ago, my son attended a magnet program that required me to pick him up - we would listen to the Thom Hartmann show on the drive home (guess the show was on a delay) and once a week Bernie was the guest. We live in Maryland, my son was 9 and even at that age he could tell that Bernie was not your typical politician. He would admit he didn't know an answer instead of BS'ing the caller. It was refreshing. The 9 year old son is now 18, a registered voter and even bigger Bernie supporter. He spends his internet time on reddit not DU or DKos and had me go check it out - young voters are organizing caravans, phone banking and raising a million dollars! Momentum is building!

(146,286 posts)Clinton doesn't really do rallies that much. She does do fundraising events, though. Sanders, on the other hand, focuses more on large rallies, which are also fundraisers for his small donors.
It's more a difference in campaigning style than anything else. We'll know the results of those choices as the caucuses and primaries come and go.
Sanders held a large rally yesterday here in the Twin Cities of MN. About 20,000 people came. Since the metro area here has a population of about 2 million, more or less, that represents about 1% of the population of the metro area.
Is that significant? Yes. Is it predictive of the March 1 caucus results? Not really.
My wife and I had planned to go to Bernie's rally, but her mother is in the hospital after a health emergency, so we opted to stand by her, rather than listen to a political speech. We're Clinton supporters, but both of us love hearing politicians speak, whether or not we support that politician ourselves.

(367 posts)...I was always under the impression that the main reason a candidate had to win the fundraising battle was in order to get the message to potential voters...
Are you saying there's another reason a candidate needs only to win the money battle? Does high bidder win the "proprietary" part of the voting software or is it simply to help sell a narrative if tptb decide to flip the vote again?
Your argument doesn't hold water in a world with internet access unless there is another reason for needing so much money...
