Noam Chomsky: Why the Republican Party Is a Threat to Human Survival

Sanders has the best policies; GOP must be stopped at all costs.

Renowned scholar and activist Noam Chomsky declared this week that the GOP and its far-right front-runners are "literally a serious danger to decent human survival.”

Speaking with The Huffington Post on Monday, Chomsky cited the Republican Party’s refusal to tackle—or even acknowledge—the “looming environmental catastrophe” of climate change, thereby “dooming our grandchildren.”

He went to rebuke the Republican party for its “abject service to private wealth and power” and dispossession of the poor.

But Chomsky made it clear that his conviction that “the Republican Party has drifted off the rails” and must be stopped by no means amounts to an endorsement of Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton—who he has previously criticized as hawkish and opportunistic.

In fact, he told The Huffington Post that the United States has what amounts to a one-party system—with both Democrats and Republicans united by business interests

3. I think the term Oligarchy pretty much covers it. Then along came Bernie with his silly ideas

about including the unwashed masses, liberals, non-voters, et al. Now them's fighting words right there. We, the Donors do not understand We, the People, aka Bernie Sanders' Voting revolution.

4. Suddenly, Sanders looks generous and humble by changing from an Inde to a Dem.

Joining a party so far to the right of his once mainstream ideals.

5. Kinda a no brainer

Both parties are dominated by lobbyists and super pacs.

Hillary's campaign chairman owns one of the biggest lobbying firms in DC. That same guy was an advisor to Obama and Clinton in the Bill Clinton. The other owner of the same lobbying firm is one of the biggest donors to the Democrats.

Except Bernie.

That firm represents weapons manufacturers and Saudi Arabia and big pharma.
