"an analogy between the workings of nature and those of human societies"

Then, in a low stakes draw poker game at a USAF base in Turkey, I was holding a 10 high straight flush. I maxed out the betting, of course. When the only other player still in the hand called, I laid out my hand. The other player laid down a queen high straight flush.

I have not played poker since. If a guy can't go for broke with a straight flush, he has no luck at all.

I suspect, however, that you likely weren't thinking of supporting Bernie. Not with that attitude and post. And I still don't get people who choose candidates based on liking or disliking internet threads. Are you saying that if all of Bernie's supporters were "nice" you'd choose him to vote for?

The OP did not liken Hillary supporters to cows. The OP is a comment on Hillary's ability to attract people to her events. It says nothing about her supporters.

But, of course, being a professional writer, you had to have known that before you twisted the OP's words.

I mean, she's the prohibitive favorite, right? How much enthusiasm can that generate? Everyone has heard all she has to say,and they know she's just going to keep repeating it, and it's not very inspirational, so why go see her in person? Most Democrats have resigned themselves to voting for her, as our party has instructed us to do. After 35 years of more of the same, there's not much to rally about. We just troop to the polls as directed, vote as directed, and adjust our expectations as directed. This time is no different than any other time. Considering all that, 300 people is a pretty good turnout.

When the polls had Clinton ahead, the polls were all correct. Now the polls that show Sanders in the lead are wrong, and those that show Clinton ahead are still correct. Now that more and more of the "likely voter" polls show Sanders moving up, we have to look at "registered voter" polls, which still show Clinton ahead. It's an evolving situation, and we have to evolve our thinking to conform to what our party requires of us. Resistance is useless. You will be assimilated.

Here is the long and the short of it. It was a joke, not meant to offend or upset. I actually thought you might even get a little kick out of it. Lord knows, I've made my fair share grammar mistakes, and have been corrected, sometimes with humor, and sometimes not. If you had made the douchebag statement about anyone else, I probably would have alerted on you. I have pretty thick skin, but I think most here would agree that the term is offensive. I'll just leave it at that.
