Related: About this forumBernie Sanders and the UNICORN meme.
Those who use the Unicorn in a derogatory fashion toward Senator Sanders may want to re-think it.
The unicorn is a symbol. Symbols represent something. They are not real, or are they?
They may not be 'real' in the way we blindly usually experience the world. No. They are a rarer reality.
From Wiki-- sorry,.. to use that but...
" In the Middle Ages and Renaissance, it was commonly described as an extremely wild woodland creature, a symbol of purity and grace, which could only be captured by a virgin. In the encyclopedias its horn was said to have the power to render poisoned water potable and to heal sickness."
Now-
1- Bernie, compared to the Goldman/Sachs crowd, could be seen as a bit of a wild woodland creature-- close to nature, to actual human beings.
2-Symbol of purity and grace-- Well, I imagine he would laugh at that, as will you, because you can not see the... well symbolism. His laughter would be the self-deprecating variety, whereas yours would be a laugh of ridicule.
3- could only be captured by a virgin.--- I haven't really figured this one out yet,..I'm working on it. I have some ideas, but.... I don't know.
4- power to render poisoned water potable and to heal sickness.--- Another apt piece of symbolism; perhaps the poison of money in politics and the sickness of the entire political system the way it works now.

(14,177 posts)This reminds me of you, actually. People will ridicule this, well Hillary supporters will. Not, because it's wrong or because it's stupid. But, because they have to. They have to use the unicorn meme, because it's all they got. Dreaming of a better life is not permitted when you are backing the status quo. I am sorry that you will be a target for mean people.

Many, many Coats of Arms use the unicorn.
