2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDear fellow Clinton supporters
I suggest we give Senator Bernie Sanders the benefit of the doubt.
The situation with the misuse of the logos for the American Association Of Retired People and the League Of Conservation Voters as well as campaign supporters masquerading as union members may very well be the work of renegade supporters.
Let's hold fire until all the evidence is in. The presumption of innocence is at the core of who we are as a people.
Thank you in advance.
Respectfully,

(99,710 posts)I am a huge Clinton supporter... But I don't believe for a second Bernie is orchestrating this...
That being said a lot of folks will do a lot of unsavory things if they can justify in their own minds it is for a good cause...The whole "if God is on our side" thing. It's also the genesis of a lot of human misery.

(11,794 posts)I'm a huge Bernie supporter, but I've been pretty aghast at some of the things I've seen from some Bernie peeps.

(99,710 posts)Not because I think he's a particularly good guy but because the risk of getting caught outweigh the benefits. That's why a lot of folks obey the law.
And his killing the messenger approach to malfeasance is off putting...

Combined with stealing data?
Sanders can't run a campaign. His team has no control over their staff.

(55,894 posts)then he has NO business running for POTUS.

(3,580 posts)I'm not jumping on this. Bernie is not used to this level of play. His prior campaigns have not required the scrutiny a presidential campaign elicits.

(55,894 posts)He's not running for class president or even senator from a tiny little state.

(3,580 posts)Reflects on is he prepared to handle this level of scrutiny. He's going to either get a grasp of this or not. It will be evident the more pressure put on him if he should be the nominee.

(2,760 posts)Nothing to get bent out of shape about, but it doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in what kind of White House he would run

(42,300 posts)I do feel, however, that a candidate is responsible for his/ her campaign, and that it speaks to their ability to govern. The issue should be judged in a fair manner.

(25,457 posts)volunteering there told Jonathan Karl that he was too busy to speak to him. Not that Karl doesn't deserve to be snubbed, but the volunteer was representing the Sanders campaign. What an arrogant jackass, I thought. Even if a small number of supporters are like that, bad things can happen.
