Related: About this forumClinton Campaign May Disenfranchise Young Iowan Voters.
*Note that I can also make use of the word "may" in order to protect myself from being called a liar.*
The Clinton campaign is floating rumors that young people "may" be bused into Iowa to caucus for Bernie. There appears to be no basis for this accusation.
It "may" be that they are planning on attempting to exclude young voters in Iowa because they know that Bernie's support among them is roughly 75%.
After what the Clinton campaign pulled in Michigan in '08, this would not surprise me a bit.
Isn't disenfranchising voters in the playbook of those who we are fighting against? Is this really the person you want representing our party? Now, more than ever, I am certain that I do not want Hillary to be our nominee.

(22,308 posts)Of course only residents of Iowa can participate in the caucus.
You made no point.
Mine was that the Clinton campaign is once again lying but hiding behind the word "may" because they don't have the courage to come right out and make a direct accusation.
You seemed to have missed that.

(2,872 posts)It's the Clinton playbook all over again; the smears are just a little different. Y'know that old axiom about history repeating itself, right?

Hillary Clinton's Dirty Campaign Tactics
In Iowa, New Hampshire and now Nevada, the Clinton campaign has sought to suppress the vote of her rivals' supporters.
http://www.alternet.org/story/73782/hillary_clinton's_dirty_campaign_tactics
And in Iowa, the Clinton campaign -- with the help of the state's largest newspaper, the Des Moines Register, which endorsed her -- was discouraging students from returning from winter break to vote, even though their right to do so was legal, said Rick Hasen, who writes a respected election law blog.
Don't forget it. Keep your eyes open.

Just more lies and misrepresentations out of the Clinton campaign.
Here is a statement her campaign made today:
We are glad that Senator Sanders has changed his mind about a debate next week in New Hampshire, Fallon said in a statement. We have always been willing to add additional debates beyond the six that had been scheduled and look forward to starting discussions on scheduling debates in April and May.
Just more deceptions and misrepresentations from Clinton's dishonest campaign. The thing is, her campaign is so freaking dishonest that nobody even notices anymore.
This is the Sanders campaign's statement:
If Secretary Clinton wants more debates, thats great, Weaver said. We propose three additional debates. One in March, April and May and none on a Friday, Saturday or holiday weekend. And all of the three Democratic candidates must be invited. If the Clinton campaign will commit to this schedule, we would ask the DNC to arrange a debate in New Hampshire on Feb. 4.
Sanders has not changed his mind about anything. He was never against a sanctioned debate in New Hampshire. He also has not agreed to it yet because it has not been sanctioned yet. Your problem is that you believe the lies.

"We've talked with the campaign and the situation has been resolved," Bethany Kahn, Culinary spokeswoman said in a statement.
Weaver confirmed that the Sanders staffers were wearing the culinary union button "in solidarity with people but they were also wearing Bernie paraphernalia."

(2,052 posts)In my OP that's currently up. Listen, Iowa is the key. Literally anything that can be said or done will be done in the next few days. It is what it is. I appreciate that Bernie tries to stay above the fray, but this is what you deal with in the big leagues.
