The Plot:
Frodo (The Voters) have been entrusted with the One Ring (Electoral Power) and has been sent on a quest to Mt. Doom (The Election). While on his way, Frodo and his trusty companion, Sam (Bernie), encounter Gollum (Hillary). They learn that Gollum once possessed the Ring of Power and that it corrupter her, but she's cunning and convinces them to let her join their fellowship. Sam is not convinced and remains skeptical of Gollum's intentions. As Mt. Doom draws near, Frodo becomes ever more conflicted on who to trust. Sam encourages him to destroy the Ring, but Gollum is less open about her intentions. Secretly, Gollum plots to regain the Ring and says anything to gain Frodo's trust. At the steps of Mt. Doom, with the Hobbits weary from their long Journey, Sam takes Frodo on his shoulders and leads him to the fiery chasm where the Ring is to be destroyed. But that's where Gollum drops the facade and tries to take the Ring. A battle ensues between Frodo and Gollum, both under the influence of the Ring's power, but ultimately Gollum's lust for power undoes her as she falls into the flames of Mt. Doom clutching at the Ring with an outstretched hand. With the ring destroyed, the veil is lifted from Frodo's mind, and he and Sam return to the Shire friends once again.
