Clinton's Corporate Ties Are Exactly What's Needed

<snip>

But to the point: one of Clinton’s greatest assets, and probably the greatest reason I will be voting for her, is because of her corporate connections.

<snip>

Similarly, the same can be said for President Obama and his ‘corporate ties’. President Obama could not get most of his agenda through Congress. He had to turn to corporations to get assistance making progress on health care, education, and green energy. Trillions of dollars. Without ‘corporations’, progressive issues would have gone next to nowhere the last eight years.

<snip>

Here’s the thing: Clinton is even better connected than Obama.

We are not going to overwhelm the Republicans anytime soon. Even with majorities in Congress, we saw during the fight for the ACA how difficult it is to make anything happen. Progressives desperately need those corporate ties to continue moving our agenda forward with or without the cooperation of wingnut ideologues.

Let the corporations run things - evidently, that's the Clinton Way.

Not voting for that.

this is not about being bought and owned by big money. They actually think it is a plus.

I personally think that the big money in campaigns and the corporate connections are one of the biggest problems we have. Oh, well I guess they just want us to get angry and stay home.

I have never stayed home and I am not starting now.

extension of the commonly held views of virtually all of her supporters that her history with corporations is no big deal. They think it's ridiculous to claim this country is a corpocracy.

are headed in one direction - as has every president since raygun - and us lefties are trying to return to the ideals of a peoples party such as we had from 1932-1979.

I think the play time is over.

How long have we heard this DLC/Third Way Crap repeated to us.

And what about Party Building? Since Howard Dean's efforts who has worked to help Build the Dem Party? I say this from a Southern State that went for Obama in 2008 and watched as our Dem Party Activists were ignored by the Dem Establishment. There was no money for Party Building and Tim Kaine and DWS did nothing for us except to support a few handpicked Blue Dog Dems who didn't last.

Either you really believe that corporations need more influence in our political system (which is insane) or you will latch on to any argument you can, no matter how insane, to support your candidate (which is kind of depressing)

And Clinton knows so many people in the top 0.1% that she is sure to use their contact information to beg them to give us a few more crumbs.
