Last night felt like a victory for DU's Hillary supporters. Here's why:

For many months we've been subjected to Hack Attack Goodman's ridiculous articles, in what I can only assume was a covert operation to make us lose our minds and switch support to Bernie. And boy, did he ever call Iowa wrong:

Hillary Clinton Will Finish Third In Iowa, Behind Bernie Sanders and O'Malley. Here's Why

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/hillary-clinton-will-fini_b_8717248.html

Not to mention, we've been told by some DU Sanders supporters that basically everyone hates Hillary and that there's a huge enthusiasm gap. Judging by the rhetoric on DU, you'd assume hardly anybody would show up to caucus for her. But plenty of people did show up for Hillary AND she pulled ahead, however slightly, of the candidate with all of the "enthusiastic" voters and big crowds.

So yes, taking all of this into account, I'd say I feel pretty good about last night's outcome. But what do I know? I'm just a low-information voter.

1. Goodman hasn't been posted forever. Never even heard about the guy until

Hillary supporters started posting it. Check the record.

11. While you're at it, smear the 33 people who recced it too.

Probably easier for you than just saying "I was wrong".

4. Have you noticed your fellow Hillary supporters saying for months that she was inevitable?

and that supporting Sanders was pie in the sky nonsense?

6. I never once saw a Hillary supporter on DU call her inevitable. That was a term throw at her by her

detractors. Also: coronation.

16. No, they never literally used the word *inevitable*

but it was obviously implied in their mocking posts of Sanders and his supporters.

5. She won and Bernie lost.

Democrats suffered a major drop in attendance from 2008, (approximately 27%).

Yes, there was a turnout of the youth, but in nowhere near revolution numbers.

Obama in 2008, now, that was a revolution.

7. Yes, this concerned me. The dem turnout was much lower and the Rethug turnout was its highest ever.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz allowed them to suck all the oxygen out of the room

12. did anyone besides that one dude ever seriously suggest she was going to come in third?

If they did, I would question their knowledge of actual political reality.

I mean, I can predict that if I say "yummy smores" three times in a darkened bathroom marshmallows will shoot out of my fingertips, but that doesn't mean it will happen.

the reason last night was a loss for HRC was because her team poured a ton of resources into Iowa, and because she's supposed to have been "inevitable", this nomination was supposed to be a cakewalk for her. And the past several months have demonstrated that the campaign style, messaging, and inspiration-generating deficits she had in 2008 are still very much a problem, and that itself is doubly a problem for her in a primary contest when her "electability" and strength as a candidate are being served - as opposed to the bold stands and policy proposals of Bernie Sanders - as a prime reason to support her.

But it wasn't the end of HRC's campaign. It was basically a tie, but it was also a strong showing for Sanders, which means the contest- and the conversation, as Hillary put it last night- will continue.

It's not like that third-place finish was without precedent.
