Fox Resorts To Bogus "Voter Fraud" Claims To Downplay Clinton Caucus VictoryBlog 9 hours and 39 minutes ago TIMOTHY JOHNSON

ox News scandalized ordinary Iowa Democratic caucus procedures to baselessly suggest former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won a Des Moines, IA, precinct through "voter fraud."
During the February 3 broadcast of Fox & Friends, host Heather Nauert claimed that "voter fraud" benefiting Clinton may have occurred because "Votes at a Des Moines high school were counted by hand.

(4,695 posts)deciding the, No's had it, and there would be not be a recount, the Caucus judge then announced a few moments later that the electronic counting device was not working. Why did he not tell the voters -before- that yes or no vote was taken?
I do not believe the count was correct.

(24,411 posts)The people presiding over this caucus violated the official Iowa Caucus rules.
This is not how you're supposed to run a caucus.
These yahoos violated the rules.
But, never mind. It's not important. Fraud in our election system and people violating the rules...please. Let's just sweep that under the carpet. Despite the fraud being available for all to see on video--because it was originally recorded by CSPAN, we're just gonna file that way under "Don't see. Don't care."
Unfrickingbelievable.

(24,411 posts)It's not a lie.
I look at the videotape and I can tell you that these people violated the Iowa Caucus rules.
I have the rules sitting right here.
These people did not run their caucus in the appropriate manner.
But never mind. I'm probably some Glenn Beck/Israel/Black Ops conspiracy...or something.
OMG...you people really do have your schtick down. It's just amazing to watch you dance around what is clearly wrong.

Then you will see wall to wall, 24/7 republican attack ads against Bernie. And his ratings against the republican candidate will be in the toilet.
Are you people so naive?
A socialist, an atheist even though he dances around the issue most democrats don't care but millions of republican will never vote for an avowed atheist and the republicans wont let him get away with dancing around the issue either.
Plus Bernie has given them a perfect sound bite already which you will hear 24/7 until election day.
"We will raise taxes, yes we will."
But now they are laying low to fool all his backers and sadly it seems to be working well.

(24,411 posts)At least 50 media outlets have reported on this fraud, and they have showed this video--which was originally recorded by CSPAN.
Who gives a damn if Fox News is reporting what scores of media outlets are reporting?
You're trying to suggest that Fox News is on Bernie's side--because of this story?
These people are on video engaging in practices that are WRONG!
I've got the official Iowa caucus rules right on my desk right here. As a precinct captain I know them inside and out.
These buffoons in the video should have counted until they got the counts correct. PERIOD.
They called for a vote of the entire room to see if there should be another count. That's not how it's done. That's not how the Iowa caucuses are supposed to be run.
The counts are supposed to be accurate. That's the job of the Precinct Chair and the captains, to ensure accuracy and to follow procedures.
These halfwits did not follow procedure. They failed everyone in the room. But that's not important, right? What's important is that, APPARENTLY, by reporting the truth about these jerks violating Iowa Caucus rules or procedure, that Fox News is "on Bernie's side."
These Hillary people failed everyone in that room with their shoddy tactics that they made up as they went along.
But never mind that! It's more important that we feel sorry for Hillary Clinton--and that we honor the bad feels that her supporters get when someone in the media doesn't sing her praises. Oh brother...

(24,411 posts)What hope is there for our party or our system if Democrats hide fraud and rationalize it--in order to support their candidate?
This is the kind of stuff we criticize Republicans for!
The shit that went down in Iowa--no one will EVER know about. You'll never know what I know. You'll never know about the widespread stories--just like this one.
I get to carry those burdens--along with all of the other precinct captains--who have cried and commiserated about delegates that Bernie did not get on Monday night--because of CHEATING. Because of shit exactly like the shit that you see in the video.
But carry on. Please. What's most important is the cult of personality.
What's right. What's wrong. What's honest. GONE.

(24,411 posts)This is a clear violation of the Iowa Caucus rules.
This is my second year as an Iowa Caucus Precinct captain.
I received specific training about the rules and procedures this year.
These people did not follow the proper procedures.
Many assholes didn't follow the proper procedures. Interesting that none of those people were Bernie people.
Interesting that the people obfuscating are Clinton fans.
Again. No right. No wrong. No integrity. It's about spinning for your candidate.
Free and fair elections be damned.

So no, the Democratic party is objectively not overrun with conservatives. I don't care that it doesn't fit the narrative you want to tell. Objective measurable statistics say you are wrong.

It's like someone starting a thread with a title of...... Bernie To Supporters: I don't care about gun deaths in America, then justify it by producing documents that prove he voted against the Brady Bill. I would call that lying also, and to justify it as the truth would be stretching the limits of credibility to the farthest reaches of the universe.

(24,411 posts)This was for #43 in Des Moines, IA held at Roosevelt High School. It was broadcast live on C-SPAN2.
Final delegate count was Clinton 5, Sanders 4. It was very close. Here is the breakdown:
FIRST VOTE: 215 Sanders 210 Clinton 26 O'Malley 8 Undecided 459 TOTAL
After this, the groups realign and another count was conducted. Sanders's group leads performed a FULL recount of all the supporters in his group. The Clinton team only added the new supporters gained to her original number from the first round of voting. I did not see another recount of the Clinton supporters taking place. It would have been very hard to miss that activity.
SECOND ROUND: 232 Clinton 224 Sanders 456 Total
It was assumed by the chair, Drew Gentsch, that the voter difference was due to a few people that left the building before the second round began. The question is whether there were really 456 total people present for the second round of voting. That was not clear, as Clinton's team did not perform a recount of ALL of the Hillary supporters during the second round of voting. We don't know how many Hillary supporters were in the room. Some of them may have also left the building between rounds.
The Clinton precinct chair, Liz Buck, lied about whether she recounted all of the Clinton supporters during the second count. At 9:44pm ET she stated to the Chair that she only counted the newly gained supporters and added that to her first-round count to arrive at the new 232 total. A minute later, after the second round votes were being discussed openly, with Hillary then taking a 5-4 delegate lead, the Sanders supporters directly asked Liz if she recounted ALL of the Clinton supporters during the second round. Liz Buck answered yes to that question at 9:45pm ET stating that she DID count them all. It's all on tape. The Sanders supports were unsuccessful at getting a recount conducted, even though several of them protested vigorously. Those supporters knew exactly what happened, but instead of the Chair asking Liz to perform a count of all Clinton supports, he said that the results had to be protested formally, leading to a majority vote, that the Sanders supporters lost. It should be noted that, before the recount vote was conducted, the Chair told the crowd that the results of the recount would not have an effect on the outcome.

(24,411 posts)But I'm glad that CSPAN was there to document their behavior--and what happened.
This was the first year that such rule breaking and shenanigans ever took place. 2008 had much heavier turnout and our caucuses pulled through without questionable counts, fraud, malfeasance and people violating caucus rules.
Not this year though. So sad.
