Related: About this forumAdvice to Bernie Staff/Surrogates: Pronounce Neh-vah-duh Correctly.
It is NOT pronounced Neh-vaw-duh. It is pronounced Neh-VAH-duh.
People from that state notice this.
Say VAH.
Don't say VAW.

(20,709 posts)"water" versus the "a" in "bad".
I use the "water" "a", but I've heard it the other way.
Or maybe this is what the OP is about to begin with, and I'm confused.

Have worked in many campaigns.
If you don't think pronouncing someone's name wrong matters, you are incorrect.
I noticed that one of Bernies senior staff members said it incorrectly on an interview.
Is it the most important thing?
No.
But, it's easily correctable. So, why not do so.

Ron : Wingardium Leviosar!
Hermione : No, stop, stop, stop! You're going to take someone's eye out. Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's Leviosa, not Leviosar.
Ron : You do it then, if you're so clever. Go on, go on.

Ron : "It's Leviosa, not Leviosar." She's a nightmare, honestly ! No wonder she hasn't got any friends.
Harry : I think she heard you.

The Washoe have inhabited Nevadas Great Basin for at least 9,000 years, and tribal lore says they have lived here since time began. Unlike other Nevada tribes whose native language is a form of Uto-Aztecan, the Washoes native tongue is a Hokan-type language. The word Tahoe is a mispronunciation of the Washoe word for the lake (Da ow).
