An observation about these two camps that is quite puzzling to me

As a black Bernie supporter myself, I see black supporters on the other side basically saying, "Stop patronizing me with this idea that I should switch because of my race, that I'm on the wrong side because of race."

Meanwhile, as a woman I'm told I'm on the wrong side because of my gender and women Bernie supporters are having exactly none of that bullshit. Especially when some males are suggesting to females, "Hey, get with the program and fall in line behind the female candidate."

It's like watching a comedy skit with mirrors, only it's not that funny. Still, all I can do is laugh. I got nothing else.

***To be clear, I am not saying race and gender are equivalent here, they are not. I am talking about biases, blind spots and behavior. Nothing more. ***

when referencing the supporters you disagree with - I agree with you that the broad brushing going on has been WAY overthetop.

and they use it. For the last 40 years or so money = media exposure, and the Clinton Campaign is using that media exposure to create the impression in voters' minds that women and people of color overwhelmingly support Clinton.

It's a calculated move targeted at "average" voters who are less motivated to dig in and research each candidate's positions. Since the advent of mass media, politics is a matter of mass psychology as much as issues and policies.

All of us were either racist or sexist, depending on whether we supported Obama or Clinton - except for some rebels who supported other candidates. They were both racist and sexist.

Mockery as a 'weapon' is fundamentally silly because it only means as much as you want it to mean, or as much as your employer allows it to mean in the case of brigading Twitter fascists. Another illusion of social media, that people need to be 'liked'.

There's a reason Identity politics is pushed, and that's so that it can be wedged when necessary. Anyone listening to that tripe is simply asking to be cut out at a later date (and they will be). Just laugh at the foolish and use their own weapon against them. Those who prefer the use of mockery as a weapon do so because they are afraid of being mocked.

Power lies where people think it does.

But yes, it is pretty comical when they call you out as a sexist. As a person of pale ancestry, I can't speak to the racial component, but the gender one hits well enough. "Y-you're sexist against yourself! Erm...I mean...you're just uninformed about your own good! Erm...damn, that didn't sound right either. Your voice isn't loud enough, so shut up and let us tell everyone what you need!"
