Im a true believer in people standing up and taking the lead to shape our democracy. The reason we (left) dont have more leaders is because everyone is standing around looking for leaders. Unfortunately the right knows this which is why theyve infiltrated nearly every local level govt with their batshit crazy base of loonies. This used to be the progressive political revolution: infiltrate the system via downticket races at every level. Now it seems the progressive movement is only about electing one guy to the top and ceding downticket races.

Take the lead. I know when I retire from my job I will be running for office.
