Did anybody watch this program this morning?

Up early as usual, I decided to tune into C-span. I haven't been a frequent watcher of this program lately but for some reason decided to tune in this morning. I was amazed at the topic of the call in show. Reasons why people are supporting Donald Trump. The title wasn't the amazing part of the show, I have come to expect titles like that on C-span these days, no, it was actually the callers from around the country and their reasons for why they support Trump. These callers, many of them were African American, some Hispanic. Watch this:

Human beings are complex creatures and there are all kinds of motivations for a person to vote against their best interests. I think a clue is found with the first woman, she said 'He sounds how I feel.' She may not realize Trump is very unlikely to do anything to help her but she probably just feels so desperate for a change that she is willing to risk it.

People have been voting for cookie cutter politicians that are focus group tested and heavily stage managed for years. They know things have not been going in their favor and are tired of being patted on the head and told to fall in line with the trusted establishment types.

Sad that people are this desperate for change but human beings are very complex and melanin content, social status, gender or any other attribute would not necessarily inoculate people from voting for people like Trump. I think both parties had better stop with the same old tired politicians as usual because if an establishment candidate manages to pull off a win this year, the next election will be even more contentious and desperate.

Sometimes I tend to forget just how desperate some people are in this country, and just how easy it is to get them to believe they will get help from a source like Donald Trump. I was amazed at, as you say, that first woman saying "He sounds how I feel." I suppose it is easy to forget that some people are really suffering in this nation, are mad as hell and believe voting for Trump will somehow take care of the problems. Just scary. I guess I am leading an insulated life, I need to get out of my present circles a bit more.

I think maybe she means, his rhetoric describes how I feel. That says a lot about that person. Have you heard his rhetoric?

I knew when the media started these types of shows it wouldn't be too long before they would become a platform style for someone. My fears have been realized.
