I can't even imagine what this family is going through. It just sucks, and you're right, perspective.

5. My sister's first child had a breathing issue at birth.

I don't think she slept the entire first year of her young life. She would sleep in the chair in her room, waking up all the time to check on her. She is now in her 30's with children of her own, but when I look at her I see that little thing in the crib and the look on my sisters face as she watched her sleep.

Scared the hell out of me, but he's doing fine now.

Watching your little struggle to live is so hard.
