Anyone who votes for Trump is a fool.

That's it.

It's that simple.

They are allowed to vote, sure. But good lord.

presidential campaign platform, that got him, what?, a whole 1% in the polls? White southern men are in trouble and need special representation (him), blacks should be paid remediation so we can put paid to their bill, further antidiscrimination efforts not needed. Women can't fight, and that's about it for us. Which at least put us on his list of mentions, unlike Hispanics and other minority populations.

He apparently joined the Democratic Party to provide white men a 21st-century version of the old southern white pol and found his vision unappreciated. So perhaps a little step-together-step to Trump shouldn't really be so surprising at all.

“It’s nothing personal about Hillary Clinton, but the reason Donald Trump is getting so much support right now is not because of the, you know, ‘racists,’ etc. and etc.,” Webb said. “It’s because a certain group of people are seeing him as the only one who has the courage to say, ‘We’ve got to clean out the stables of the American governmental system right now.’ If you're voting for Donald Trump, you might be getting something very good or very bad. If you’re voting for Hillary Clinton, you’re going to get the same thing. Do you want the same thing?”

"Bush and Gore are the same".

We saw how that turned out.

It was horseshit then, and it's horseshit now.

That we felt comfortable enough to deliver the response to Bush's State of the Union.

Worked hard for Veterans in the Senate.

Fierce opponent of GW Bush.

Yeah, real big jerk

A supporter of Republicans who evolved to become a Democrat? Where have I heard that before.

Jim Webb did, though, and yes, I'm laughing at him. I laughed at him at the first debate, too. He's way out of his league, and possibly confused about which party he should belong to, really.

You let me know, though, if O'Malley or Lessig make the same statement. I'll wait here.

How can anyone who associates with the Democratic Party even talk positively of Trump? The man is a vile racist and demagogue, and he is extremely dangerous.

Webb can take a hike. He's a Republican, and if he supports Trump (or even thinks about it), then I consider him a racist and a douchebag.

He is saying the racist language is not why Trump has wide support but b/c
of corruption. That is a complete lie, if their main concern was corruption
they would vote for Bernie.

35. I've talked to many Indies and Democrats who are doing the same thing
Fri Mar 4, 2016, 02:34 PM

I talked to thousands of voters in Iowa, and I heard this repeatedly.

I was charged with mainly reaching out to Independents, and some Republicans in my area.

Many Democrat-leaning Indies will not vote for Hillary. PERIOD. They will vote for Trump or any other Republican before they vote for Hillary. Contrast that with Obama, who had immense cross-over appeal. He attracted Independents who were both right- and left-leaning.

The stats prove that Hillary does not poll well with Independents.

Again, why are we nominating Hillary, who has no path to the nomination? Time and time again, we hear that a candidate must get the Independent vote. Hillary does not have that--and she has a good chunk of the Democratic party who will not vote for her either.

69 percent of America doesn't trust her. The vast majority of Independents don't like her. Republicans will turn out in droves and 20 percent of the Democratic party will not be voting for her.

I hope that politicians like Webb can spotlight the huge weaknesses of a Hillary candidacy--mainly, that she lacks the supporters to win in a GE.

Allows Trump to masterfully move to the center, to the left of Hillary on FP all while still maintaining that white anxiety/xenophobia populist energy that is driving his campaign.

It would be a politically masterful move and potentially devastating for the Democratic ticket.
