So far, in the primaries, the popular vote

is almost exactly 60% for Hillary and 40% for Bernie:

Hillary Clinton - 4,013,741 59.53%
Bernie Sanders - 2,625,505 38.94%

That is also reflected in the pledged delegate count:

Hillary Clinton - 609 ~60%
Bernie Sanders - 412 ~40%

It's noted that popular vote counts may not be available from some caucus states.

The above source is the best one available for the raw numbers from the primaries, including delegate counts.

paying attention to this popular vote count should give us all an idea about who is turning out the most people. Numbers are numbers. Some worry that a candidate with fewer votes might become the nominee. Watch the figures as the voting comes in. I think it will be very obvious as time goes by that is not the case. Our nominee will be the person who won the most votes from actual voters.

The delegate count may show a different percentage due to how delegates are allocated. But, they, too, will reflect who has the most votes in the primary elections and caucuses. As you'll see, it's generally close to the same, percentage-wise.

The Democratic primary will be fair and the results will be transparent. I check the link in the OP the day after each primary event. Watch those numbers and you'll get the real story.

Can the rest of us vote before we try to declare Hillary the winner?

After each primary event, those numbers will be updated at the link.

The numbers in my post reflect the current state of the primary race. I did not claim otherwise.

Keep watching that link. It will tell the story.

No numbers from future events are available. When they are, you'll see them at the link in the OP. I'll repost them from time to time as the primaries happen, too. Transparency is always better than guesswork. We'll get some new numbers this weekend and again after Tuesday's Michigan primary.

Some people check their bathroom scale every day. Others check far less frequently. But, if you're watching your weight, the scale tells the story of your progress, whenever you feel like checking it.

the game progresses. We can watch the primary scoreboard, too. I'm pretty sure we're all interested in how the game is going as it is played.

Really, I won't post these numbers often. The link will show them with a click. I have that site bookmarked and on my Chrome bookmark bar.

That most are supporting Hillary but there is also a strong and passionate bloc supporting Sanders. There's just not enough of that strong and passionate bloc to elect Sanders as the DEM nominee, imo.

I said in my head a few hours ago 60-40. Close enough.

Once all the primaries are done, I think it will be about the same margin.

Sanders will have done an amazing thing, but he will not be the nominee, I'm pretty sure. Almost certain, in fact.

Sanders has rallies that attract thousands of people and has no problem fundraising, yet it's Hillary who is getting more votes.
