2ND UPDATE: The Heart of the Country Just Went Socialist! (68% to 32%)

NY Times just reported that Kansas, home to the city of Lebanon--the geographic center of the US--has voted for the Jewish Socialist!

Stop for a moment, and contemplate that fact, and tell me that Bernie's not electable.

I'll laugh, all the way to Lebanon.

Well done, my socialist heartland!

With a population of 2.9 million in Kansas, only 26,000 people voted for the socialist. Meanwhile, over 70,000 Kansas voters voted for Republicans.

Well, nothing's "free". We will be paying for things like tuition-free college, paid family leave and an improved ACA to an eventual Medicare-for-all, through a tax that will mainly impact the very wealthy but some middle class will see an additional minor tax burden (not much different than in the HRC tax plan).

Given that you are cheerleading for the teapublican number of voters, using "socialist" as a cussword and using "free stuff" as a derogatory seems a little awkward.

America needs to level the playing field and give back to the middle class. We don't need tobin taxes and dual taxation of foreign earnings for US based corporations. Most countries do not tax profits made overseas...why is that?

American taxes do not go for frivolous things for Americans like free college in state schools or universal healthcare.

Not yet. (May Bernie win in November.)

They go to pay to keep the oceans safe for cruise ships, oil tankers and the shuttle of shoddy goods made by slave labor in underdeveloped countries to developed countries that allow the very rich to hide their profits in tax havens and yet enjoy the "security" that the taxes on Americans' every-lower wages provide.

Just as an aside, living next to Kansas and below Nebraska all my life, you have to understand just how unbearable Red these states are. Even after Brownback decimated the state's ability to pay their bills, they closed schools, downgraded their credit rating, and yet Kansans gladly slit their throats again and returned him to office for another term to, maybe this time, take the state down completely, since he didn't finish the job the first time. That I try to look at reality?

I am downplaying it, because I think it deserves to be downplayed.

Bernie has a core of what I consider to be "fired up" and also "foolish". Swept away by their emotions. This group of people is large enough to win a caucus even in a conservative state like Kansas, but not near large enough to win a primary in a conservative state like Louisiana.

Even primary-voters are more die-hard than regular voters, and a much smaller group. The year I ran for Congress for example, there were 22,503 votes in the primary election, but the winner of the primary got 65,445 votes. That is just ONE congressional district out of four, with almost as many votes in a primary as Bernie got for the whole state.

Caucus voters are a much smaller group than primary voters. A small group where a bunch of fired up people on a suicide mission can win the day.

but unlike some jerk who PM'd me when I say I'm leaving the Democratic party at some point for some juvenile to say I was never a real Democrat anyway yeah and neither are you or sanders a socialist I can tell which way this is heading. any bernie supporter is banned of DU at some point I can see this coming. I hope not , I hope the actual Democrat Bernie Sanders ignores the fake delegate lead which at least check is like 194 delegate difference (guessing I know it's less than 200)
