I have been in the business world for 50 years----behind the doors men make plans without and against women---------if women are not monolithic on this that stupidity of men will continue----Rush calling them sluts ------Trump alluding to their periods ---O'Reilly playing loofah with them, ---my aunt was a senior official at McGraw Hill---when there was a business meeting at a men's club she had to go in through the kitchen------even if you don't like HRC-----at least it would be good to enjoy Limbaugh melt in front of her----and he will---he's first on the list-----as a father of 3 women and the grandfather of 5 ---it is time for a women in that White House-------HRC is not my Favorite -----Elizabeth Warren is more to my liking----but that is not going to happen ---so if HRC does not go in ---I doubt the wealthy will let Bernie anywhere near the Presidency----so maybe a few years of Trump or Cruz will make women be more monolithic----men need to be shown a lot of things ----they are very slow learners ----particularly on women's issues -------but HRC will help them learn that a woman is quite capable of making some decisions for men that truly need to be made-----it will be liberating for most men ----it used to be stylish to make fun of gays for these me who would limp their wrist and speak stereo-typically ------it has been drowned out a lot after Obama position on the issue ----it takes leadership-----all those bigots have also watched their heroes be outsmarted by the "black guy" over and over ------if HRC wins-----they will be wishing Obama was back in the White House----because the bottom line is that --if they have to---they can listen to a black MAN ----but God forbid they have to listen to a woman----on this issue women need to be monolithic---

I was replying to someone who equated something said on a Hillary website with "women" speaking out. Not only is that not an accurate statement, but that treats women like a monolith. If something appeared on Bernie Sanders.com and I claimed that equaled men speaking out, people would laugh and/or get offended and rightly so.

EVERY time Hillary spoke and told of her plans Bernie was standing beside her making faces, stepping back, waving his finger, trying to take attention away from what she was saying. He was extremely rude and that isn't even counting him having the audacity to tell another candidate, with way more experience in the world, to be quiet so he could repeat his canned speech. Rude. And then her army of sycophants and rat-fuckers pepper the airways for the next 24 hour news cycle with how poor little Hillary was treated poorly by the big bad mean and angry Sanders.

With interrupters, I prefer to let the wind down, smile at them tolerantly*, then hit them with some variation of "okay...can I speak now?" They're kind of stuck with letting you talk then, or they come off as a compete ass to any audience you might have. Even works (usually) in one-on-one conversations...although it can be a bit awkward for both.

* thus reinforcing the impression that you're the adult, mildly indulging an unruly child; your opponent, however, is seething at the condescension and at being outmaneuvered. You've got them flustered!

He tripped and fell while trying to execute that delicate dance on Sunday night. Sanders's "excuse me, I'm talking" rebuttal to Clinton hinted at the fact that he was losing his temper with her. Quite frankly, Hillary has never needed David Brock to lie for her over the previous 25 years - because she lied just fine all by herself during those years.

If you doubt that, go to google and enter "poll Hillary untrustworthy" .. about 60% of America thinks she's dishonest or untrustworthy.

She's not a great liar because she gets caught a lot but I don't think she needs David Brock's help in that area.

this kind of thing is said in most debates. I suppose she just gets to talk whenever, no matter whose turn it is because she's a woman. This is just people seeing what they want to see and being offended because they wanted to be offended. You act like he said, "A man's talking. go bake some cookies."

It might be time to do some soul searching. I can do dumb crap on the internet because it's entirely unrelated to my job. I'm just someone sitting in my living room typing.

You, on the other hand, claim to be a journalist - and already have damaged your reputation in the contortions it took to transition from exposing Hillary as the compulsive liar she is - and then doing the weathervane thing to endorse her.

Then a lot of people questioned you when you went on Fox News, and I think the explanation was something about getting the message out to all people. (?)

But once you start actually becoming Fox News and internalizing their "journalism" methods - latch onto a talking point from the echo chamber that's entirely unrelated to policy or substance and start working to catapult the talking point, people notice what you've become.

Soul searching, dude. Think about what made you want to be a journalist to begin with. Do you have any reporters from days gone past that you look up to?

You can point to all kinds of articles but many women on DU have pointed out why they don't believe he was being sexist and such attacks actually are. I don't believe you think he was being sexist either which makes your OP really quite disgusting. What do you say to those women who are offended by this type of disingenuous smear campaign? And if you want to hide behind saying "I am only the messenger" it won't work. By posting this ilk you are flat out suggesting Bernie is sexist as directly as anyone who actually said it. Do you really believe Sanders is sexist Steve? Come on, your better than this, you know Bernie isn't sexist so don't try to smear him by spreading this kind of dirt around and hide behind suggesting you are only a messenger.

After every debate there are always dozens of articles that suggest all kinds of things about what the author thinks the candidates are up to but people post on DU what they want people to hear. Mon Mar 7, 2016, 03:11 AM

If Person A interrupts when Person B is speaking, then Person B has every right to say, "excuse me, I'm talking."

If person A supporters don't like that reply, they are implying that Hillary should have received some special, preferential treatment, based on sex categorization.

But that is totally sexist. Get it? Asking for something different or special, based on one's sex, is sexist. Just like voting for someone based on their sex categorization is also sexist.

That's how these ascribed characteristics work. Being either for or against someone, purely on the basis of an ascribed characteristic, is bad. Sex, race, ethnicity are ascribed characteristics.

And, if Hillary does need some kind of delicate, kid glove deference, then it's just reason #2459 why she is a poor candidate for the nomination.
