Greater Threat to Democracy - Citizens United or Corporate Media?

I think it is the corporate media.

And don't forget: If you love the corporate controlled media - send a thank you card to the Clintons.

Not that the "two-for-the-price-of-one" couple really needs any thanks for the role they played in the destruction of the fourth estate. Hey, it has worked out really well for them.

When you look at all the damage done by the Clinton years why in the heck would anyone want a repeat?

1. Why choose? They both suck and we currently have both. Hillary is benefitting from both, even as

she descries one. The only one who is complaining about Citizens United without naked hypocrisy is Senator Sanders. The only one not being drooled over by Tweety, but being hit deceptively again and again (once he stopped being ignored) is Senator Sanders.

While we are on the subject of harmful to democracy, how about the DNC, the pressure to endorse Hillary, the unified front, the super delegates, election and caucus shenanigans, etc?

years, including during this campaign. So have most supporters of Sanders. It's certain supporters of Hillary who underplay that she takes FULL advantage of Citizens while preaching against it and deny that the rest of things have been stacked against Sanders.

They have bad ideas and their bad ideas became law. They're not inspiring
people except to say, I am not Trump, I am not Ted Cruz..woohoo.

From the journal of a DUer with whom I often agree:

Word to those understudying Joe McCarthy, making their lists and checking them twice: Much as you seem to love leaping to negative conclusions, whether anything supports them or not, that I enjoy this image (and Gene Wilder) says nothing, one way or the other, about how I plan to vote in November. Oh and honi soit qui mal y pense. That went for J. Edgar, Joe and Roy and it goes for you. Have a great day!

10. I'm not sure what is going on with the Clinton campaign but I have been laughing a lot

today. There is an OP about how only people of privilege would not vote for Hillary.
Another OP about how anyone who is leaving the Democratic Party should she win the
nomination was not a Democrat to begin with..so bye bye..good riddance. LOL

I am thinking, so what the hell happened in the last 24 hour news cycle? I thought
she won the debate and is set to win Michigan..so what gives? Why the concern
that Bernie supporters will take down their candidate..I thought she was suppose
to be so fucking awesome and pragmatic, so why the worry so early in the game?

If their preferred candidate can't beat Trump or Cruz, that is on her.

If Bernie can't win the nomination the same goes for him, this preemptive
bullshit is damn hilarious. I suspect her campaign will rely on, I am NOT Trump,
so be afraid..very afraid.

They picked her, and they not me, need to sell her.

Corporate Media makes a very large pile of money off of Citizens United. There'd be a lot fewer ad buys without CU.

The other elephant in the room is that Citizens' United is only the latest layer of a thoroughly corrupt campaign finance system. If we succeedd in overturning Citizens' United (and we must), we will still have a dysfunctional campaign finance system that serves the interests of the wealthy, just like we had before the Citizens' United decision.

One thing I love about Bernie is that he actually gets this, and talks about it. Most politicians are throwing up flags for people to rally behind, such as "repeal Citizens' United", or "reinstate the assault weapons ban", and are not invested in actually solving the problems these flags are symptomatic of.

Bernie, on the other hand, says that, in addition to repealing Citizens' United, we need 100% public financing of elections.

He also said. in one of the earlier debates, that his dream job would be to be president of CNN, because it would cover the news far differently if he was running it. I'd love to see that!
