I hope this isn't a new Clinton meme. Bernie wants a "Socialist Revolution" like in Latin America?

On Hardball a Florida Mayor (whose name I didn't catch) and Clinton surrogate just described Sanders' goals as a Socialist Revolution in the mold of Venezuela, Nicaragua and other actual Latin American revolutions.

It was not said in the spirit of nuance about the good and bad of those revolutions, but obviously with the tone implying that sanders wants to end private enterprise, and dark hints of violence and despotism and repression.

"Many refugges in Florida came here to escape that, and I don't think they want to see it in America," this asshole said.

I hope he was only spouting off such bullshit as an individual, and not expressing a new Clinton fear-mongering meme.

I know the GOP will be saying such crap...but coming from a Democratic politician?

and that's how the HRC campaign has operated before, then her saying something along these lines would signal to me that they are full-on shitting their pants inside those headquarters. HRC didn't go 'full republican' on Obama until things got desperate. If they start doing that now, it's a sure sign that they think their ship is sinking.

Of course, if it was on a talk show, it just as easily could have been some idiot spouting off. I guess we'll see tonight.

a couple of times, he knows where his bread is buttered. The right wing Venezuelans, Cubans, Nicaraguans, etc. in Florida probably funded him.

The socialism = Cuba, Venezuela etc. meme is a workable angle in Florida. The mayor was right that will work as a meme if presented correctly in Spanish media. You'll see Bernie with Fidel's face right next to him, dissidents, strife, long lines, lots of RED.

are not registered as Democrats. Not yet, anyway.

Reports have been that Latinos in Florida, especially Cubans, are shifting away from their traditional allegiance to the Republicans, given generational change, the opening in Cuba policy, and the Republican demonization of Latinos generally.

What could possibly go wrong for her?

Although I also hope Sanders will be better prepared than he was for the Big Lie about the auto bailout.

That was a stunner and an outrage, of course, and it backfired totally on Clinton since Michigan workers actually knew the details. But Sanders needed to make it much more clear that she had completely made that shit up (which she used as a counterweight to talk about her Wall Street connections).

The Wall Street bailout money that Sanders voted against was never intended for the auto industry - it was an executive shift by Obama that allowed some of it to be used to bail out GM.

(This was also a joke - the government owned GM for a while and could have converted it and its suppliers into domestic fully unionized producers of electric cars, trains, wind turbines, solar panels, etc. Instead they re-floated the beast that makes the SUVs. Hoo-rah. But anyway, in TV debates it has to be one point at a time.)

defense teacher, who is from Argentina, is so freaked out about Bernie. He is seriously worried that Bernie wants to go into South America and back someone like Pinochet (again). It's the "socialist" label and crap like this. Sigh..
