Related: About this forumAs Rubio Falters, Will Neocons Bolt to Clinton?
link; excerpt:That this is even a possibility strikes some as newsworthy. It shouldnt. Hillary Clinton agrees with the neoconservatives on a number of foreign policy issues and, as Michael Lind points out, a lot else. Neocons were never fully onboard with the fiscal conservatism of traditional conservatives and libertarians, and they merely tolerated the social conservatism of the Religious Right, chiefly because that movement provided the necessary foot soldiers to help elect their preferred candidates.
The real mystery isnt why the neocons would return to the Democratic Party if the GOP were to nominate a skeptic of foreign intervention. Given the profound tensions on the right between the statist neoconservatives, and the small-government movement conservatives, the wonder is that they stayed in the GOP so long.
If the neoconservatives do bolt the GOP, a new conservative foreign policy might congeal around prudence, self-reliance and restraint. And if the neocons seek to fasten themselves once again to the GOP in four or eight years, after having helped elevate Hillary Clinton to the presidency, no one should be surprised if Republicans arent anxious to let them back in.

(24,411 posts)The founder of the neocon movement, Robert Kagan, endorsed Hillary for President two weeks ago. Robert Kagan started PNAC with Bill Kristol. He endorsed Hillary for President over Marco Rubio.
It makes perfect sense that Kagan would endorse Hillary. Hillary named Robert Kagan as one of her Middle East foreign-policy advisers while she was Secretary of State.
Isn't that crazy? These neocon scumbags, who are the biggest war engineers of our lifetime, have all ready infiltrated the Democratic party. And it appears that Hillary Clinton opened the door, let them in, set the table and has been having a big party with them.
Look at what happened during her Secretary of State tenure. She was instrumental in getting rid of Gaddafi and now Libya is a former shell of itself and a failed state. Untold numbers of Libyans are fleeing into Europe. Libya is one of the countries that the neocons had on their wishlist. In their manifesto, "Rebuilding America's Defenses" they laid out (in 1996) that they wanted: Iraq, Iran, Syria and Libya.
So, not only did Clinton---with assistance from the founder of the neocon movement--hand Libya to the neocons--she is endorsed by their founder.
I don't know how much clearer it gets than that.
If you're interested in further reading, here's some articles. Everything I've said is fact and is discussed in these articles. Even Kagan's endorsement. It's very sick and sad that she brought this tripe into our party.

Cruz is scary, even more so than Trump.
