(5,764 posts)Nobody "has" any unpledged delegates. They can express intent to pledge for anyone they want to in the future but that means exactly squat until the convention.

(12,655 posts)with about 2/3 of the country to vote
she has 34% needed to win
he has 23% needed to win
supers will support the winner
again, a 10-11% difference with much voting left to do and bernie with momentum and his favorable states ahead. her best states are largely behind her.
this is good news for the bern!

(88 posts)She won't gain as many delegates as Bernie did.
Five states: Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, Illinois and Ohio.
I think Bernie has them all. Watch the polls "tighten" and get it wrong.

(18,115 posts)Bernie is 28% of the way there.
That number will be reached by one of them, but not until June.

(5,252 posts)that IS a major story. I haven't heard that mentioned once. Such a juicy story for a media fixated on SDs. Can't believe they dropped the ball

(314 posts)in the primary means very little in a super delegate system. The 450 pledged delegates Hillary earned in her 9 state southern sweep won't bring her even 1 electoral vote in the general should she win the nomination. Her squeakers in NV, MASS and in Iowa
would earn her 23 electors in the general.
Bernie has won 9 blue state. (Maines 4 electors and Nebraska's 5 electors are awarded according to who wins the congressional district in the general, The rest are winner take all. I haven't figured out how that might break down so as to not mislead I will leave those out of Bernies earned elector count.) So, Bernies 7 states would earn him 39 electors come the general.
Even with Hillarys greater delegate count, Bernie shows far greater strength approaching the general.
Democrats don't win in red states we win in the blue states where Bernie has 9 solid wins and Hillary has three squeakers If Bernie shows any strength in the remaining primary contests it should not surprise anyone to see the supers come down in Bernies favor
