Q: How do the Democrats combat this in the general election? The branding of Hillary has begun.

Last edited Fri Mar 11, 2016, 01:02 PM - Edit history (2)

It's more than blue collar workers that are upset.... But go ahead and put out more "charts." I am sure that will win the day. And no, it isn't about racism. If this same type of rally was held in another country, the response would be the same. And it will bring people to the polls in droves.

And the Hillary branding has begun...

Update: Please note this is not giving the other side stuff they can use. Rather, this is showing what the other side is doing. I guess we could ignore it. However, I don't think that would be a winning strategy.

They keep pushing through these variations of NAFTA and other policies that encourage and promote outsourcing, downsizing and rapacious Corporate greed to satisfy Wall St.

The GOP are worse, but Trump is portraying himself as a fighter against those things.

That IS what will happen in the general if we nominate a corporatist who supported these things.

The advent of digitalization and large container ships created a much smaller world than we have ever known. Corporations were going to chase cheap labor around the globe. The country with the highest standard of living was going to take the biggest hit when the music stopped. NAFTA could have never come into being and the situation would not be measurably different than we find today. In my opinion, this constant pointing at NAFTA is like solely blaming the carburetor for an automobile's speed.

But rather than policies that have encouraged the excesses of that behavior, we should have been (should be) pushing for policies -- and bully-pulpit messages -- that discourage it, and devise alternatives to protect jobs and the overall position of workers and the larger economy.

The problem is the Democrats too often have gone along with the Corporate Imperative for Bigger Profits instead of representiong the counterbalance of the Larger Public Interest.

But it's ok if he buys the WH instead?

Nonetheless, this is an extremely important issue, and one of the major reasons that I'm supporting Bernie. Trump would not be able to go after Bernie on this in the GE. But he could (and would) hammer on Hillary with it.

Doesn't matter how much right wing shit like this is promoted.

Fuck Trump.

You are presenting a complete one way street that promotes a message in only one direction.

So, for a fun game. Tell me. What will we be branding Trump with? What issues do you have with Trump. Will you join me right hear in agreeing that it isn't a one way street as you are laying before us? That democrats will have a message against him as well? That he will be branded? You know, everything that is missing from your one sided op.

And if that very powerful message is not refuted get prepared for President Trump.

What a hand that schmuck has been dealt. And it's more than just his message, it is the culmination of the perfect storm that has been brewing for awhile.

I think Clinton advised Trump to run b/c he thought Trump could adopt Bernie's message and keep him from being a problem for Hillary. But I recall that old saying, Oh what tangled webs we weave, when first we practice to deceive....

"that would lead to a charge that I was helping the other side."

That is exactly what I'm charging here. It simply can't be denied with the direction you are taking.

I understand the chance I take withy a jury here being a Clinton supporter. Facts are facts and you are presenting only one side, fostering the promotion of Trump against Clinton. <- Your op and responses are truly nothing less and nothing more. It's obvious.

Florida saying. Brietbart had a video where they were talking about this subject but they DID NOT include the portion about Clinton. Wow. Wonder why? Maybe because they want to hide the ball until the general election.

One of the major reasons I support Bernie is because I believe Bernie is one of those individuals who is truly color blind and who will bring us together instead of drive us apart for political gain.

And it hasn't wounded the orange one at all. Trump is genius at finding that one chink in a person, the thing we didn't even know we were thinking about and then smashing them with it

Jeb's low energy
Marco's a robot
Carson's asleep

He's going to label HRC in the first week and we're going to absolutely go batshit with both rage (cuz we hate it) or fear (cuz there's a kernel of truth and we fear it will stick)

What the hell will HRC use? Xenophobic racist? He and his supporters eat that shit up. He shut down her "sexist" charge in 24 hours by bringing up Bill's affairs and she hasn't used it since

Guilt by association (Rev. Wright et al), birtherism, "he's a secret Muslim". etc. Expect no less for Hillary, but it will be preaching to the "choir" for the most part. As for Trump, where does one begin? His net negative of -39 is well-deserved and I see his performance over the past several months as being one ongoing and protracted self-delivered negative ad. There's almost too much material to work with, but Democrats will somehow manage.
