So Trump set the scene for a fracas tonight.

The unlikely and provocative location. A liberal college in downtown Chicago.

The remarks with which he has inflamed his supporters to violence.

And now I hear references to the protests being akin to OWS -- leftists and anarchists doing what they typically do. (An attempt to smear Bernie supporters?)

And Republican leaning talking heads are claiming that the Bernie supporters have denied Trump and his supporters their right to free speech.

I think the whole thing was a manufactured event. It preempted Kasich's town hall. It seized the news cycle. It portrayed Trump as a victim. It will drive his supporters to even greater frenzy.

UIC is a commuter campus of extremely diverse, primarily minority students and that fact that it was chosen as the site of a Trump rally struck me as suspicious from the start. Now Donald is the big hero, who averted violence.

Anyone ever hear of the Reich Stag Fire? Yell the Communists did it, (the Nazis set it themselves ) and then say we are here to protect you!

After all, Trump keeps Hitler's book in his nightstand. At least that's what his ex-wife said.

was very eerie. This was a Trump rally. There is always heavy security/police presence.

They announce the rally is postponed due to protests, and you would think they'd have police all over the place. I didn't see any in the video, except for the two on stage.

The lack of security stood out. I found it odd.

Maybe most of them were outside? Were the protesters right outside the doors of the Trump rally site?

What a weird night. What a weird situation.

because he is so easy to trip into a psychotic behavior over and over and over. With trump, there's: his hands, his money, his business, his mother, his father, and yes his penis. Any and all will trip a psychotic response.

He orchestrated this. He is a puppet master sitting on a golden throne laughing at everyone. Do you ever see the smirk on his face when he yells "Get 'em outta here"? He loves watching people he has never met, never done anything for carry out his orders. He is a master manipulator and showman. He is getting off big on a power trip.

He knows the dog whistles, he knows what phrases to say. He knows it will reaffirm some latent racism, it will allow some to throw off their white hoods and he knows it will piss others off. He also knows talking up the bad trade deals and his (supposed) ability to make better deals to bring back jobs will allow others to overlook his racist, misogynistic, xenophobic remarks and pull the lever for him. I just read an interview with a Dem union leader in Canton who claimed he hates Trump but many of his otherwise D voting brothers are backing him. This is scary. I'm really worried about the general election.

He knows how to market. He is more dangerous than any candidate I have seen in my lifetime.

Trump called 30% of this country rapists, drug dealers, terrorists and scum to their face. People come out to protest his rallies all the time. That's in Nowheresville, so what do you think is going to happen here? Of course large numbers were going to appear against him in Chicago. Chicago! Imagine! It will be so in all big city centers in which he attempts rallies, it cannot be otherwise. In the North, on the West Coast, people will appear to protest this.

Sooner or later he was going to schedule a rally in the center of a large American city, was he not?

Of course this was going to happen.
