Polls say Clinton, Trump keep leads ahead of Tuesday's primary vote

Just ahead of the North Carolina primaries, two new polls show former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and real estate billionaire Donald Trump with leads.

High Point University, a private college outside of Greensboro, and the conservative-leaning Civitas Institute of Raleigh, released poll results last week of key races in Tuesday's state primaries. They showed similar results for the presidential and gubernatorial primaries.

The Civitas survey had Trump leading Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 32 percent to 26 percent; Clinton was leading Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 57 percent to 28 percent.
